Looking through the trade thread I see a lot of people seem to be trading Smith to Matho

Not a fan of that trade. Smith is a better scorer and still has 50-80k to make and JS is much better

Reckon I am going to pass on Matho now that Davis and Dunkley have more cash to make

Only concern is, I'll grab Collins this week but won't have any downgrade targets to make money for a while by the looks of things  :-[

I've never understood why people say this. Someone always pops up. Mathieson is on the bubble this week, Collins next week and I'm sure another decent rookie will debut this week (ie. Trengove).

Besides Round 7, there has been at least one decent downgrade target on the bubble every week:

R3: Starting rookie correction week (ie. Papley if you missed him)
R4: Hartley (Def)
R5: Byrne-Jones (or Byrne/Wagner) (All Def)
R6: Smith (Mid)
R8: Petracca (Fwd/Mid)
R9: MacPherson (Mid) (Looked good, unfortunately injured)
R10: Hopper (Mid)
R11: Mathieson (Mid)
R12: Collins (Def)
R13: Will be named this week (Good chance its Trengove)

The lack of forward rookies has been concerning, but the DPP flexibility of Brown, Tippa & Adams have helped minimize that issue.
100% spot on mate. Especially at this time of year and going into the second half. There's a far greater chance of regulars being sore and missing games, or coaches blooding youth to see what they've got before the year ends

I  was waiting to see who Lions dropped for Rocky as I suspect would have been one of Keays or Mattho. Now that Lester is injured for 3 weeks re-evaluating as it may mean that we can get at least 3 price rises from Mattho.  Will still wait on Brisbane teams though as they could still spring a surprise and give Jansen an opportunity given his form in NEAFL. .

Surely you don't drop Matho or Keays. They are your future and leppa, even though he's a spud coach, understands that they need to blood these kids that actually have a crack and can win contested ball.

Agree to an extent but who would you drop out of Robinson, Rockliff, Rich, Hanley, Zorko, Christensen, Taylor to accommodate.  Mayes was probably in the picture but he has just had his best 2 games for the season. Personally would be tempted to drop Taylor till he advises his intentions for next year.
Mattho has the round 15 bye though which may be good providing a downgrade option surfaces.

got math last week.

reckon ill go collins or tucker this week.

even if trengove doesnt play this week i would happily lock him in next week if he gets named for his first game. injury is a worry but i reckon he could easily average 75-80. will be great for the byes.

Out of those, Rockliff, Zorko, Rich and Robinson play on the ball. Christensen has been moved to a hbf, Taylor is more suited to a half forward role and Hanley is a hbf too. You guys need some grunt in that team.

I think in some regards it was a decision between Hopper and Matho last week given peoples DPP situation

i.e for me to grab matho, i would be fielding two of hopper/smith/davis/matho/dunkley unless i dropped a smith/davis type, a hard choice given they both have money to make with solid scoring potential

With Trengove hopefully playing this week and a potential pickup next week, I'm happy to go Collins early to maintain my team structure

Have decided that I am not getting Matho or Paine

Have got Smith, Davis and Dunkley on bench so all making money still will keep them and pass on Matho

Collins is the only option I like, so I will downgrade Ruggles to him and use that cash to upgrade Brown to McVeigh

Will then just have to sit on my team for a few weeks and wait for more rookie downgrades to appear - two of Hopper, Smith and Davis to Trengove and a prem would be ideal

I'm glad I dodged the Mckenzie bullett a couple of weeks ago, was prepared to trade Hewett for $250k but decided to go to Brand.

However, this is the week to say goodbye to Hewett and M.Brown.

I'm most likely sticking to one up one down and going Hewett >> Matho and Brown >> McVeigh
However I'm mighty tempted if Tucker is named, double downing.. Hmm..

Is Brand worth a downgrade this week assuming he comes in for Spangher?

Already gone up in price a bit, but with Spangher done for a while surely his JS is about as solid as it gets?

Yes but scoring is a bit of an issue playing as a key back. Can see him being similar to Menadue in terms of price rises.

Man i don't think it's worth it, as said key back who is scoring averaging 50 and already had his first price rise.
I am not sure he will ever have a big game to boost his earning, just get Collins or Tucker if named.

Nope.
Brand has high JS but he's gone up in price already and there is a guy by the name of Collins from freo who will be in everyone's side come next week..
If you need the downgrade and cash this week I'd pull the triggers onCollins a week early.
Or Darcy Tucker who will most likely come in for Freo this week and is priced at only $117k

Trengove debuting this week works out nicely for a Smith/Hopper/Davis downgrade in 2-3 weeks time

Not ideal timing, round 14 is a massive struggle for me already - Melb have the bye that round also.
