Rookies Ryan Davis and Tom Keough will continue to battle for an upgrade once David Swallow (knee) is put on the long-term injury list.

Just read that Brad Ebert said Darcy Byrne-Jones is in his SC side and has looked very good off the half back flank this preseason

Not sure what to take out that, but i guess he could be a chance for rd1
Bigger question is does Brad Ebert have Brad Ebert in his SC side? If I was Brad Ebert I would have Brad Ebert in my SC side. Because as an owner of Brad Ebert I would like Brad Ebert to play amazing.

Did I say Brad Ebert enough?

I'd still be surprised to see DBJ line up Round 1 :P Maybe it's at the expense of Impey as last year Impey started the year at the expense of the bloke who's name has escaped my mind. (Lewis Stevenson and/or Campbell Heath would've been the ones that played in 2014 i think? I just remember Impey getting multiple chances to prove himself and there was a bloke we had the previous year that did alright but fell behind. So I'm suggesting that maybe the same is happening here)

we having the "Upgraded Off The Rookie List" thread?

there has been a few, Majak Daw, Callum Ah Chee? I think.

Ringo

With the Pies elevating Gault yet another forward option although a bit expensive at $215k but maybe alternative to Simpkin.

im going Weits at d3 so I need his safety of playing games.

Four defence rookies on the ground?

That's some putrid scores you'll be having to field every week then especially if you're not using a donut for loopholes in defence.

depends.

first up defenders have been known to give pretty putrid scores themselves.

The important difference if the differential on each line.

A 70 from a rookie mid looks pretty putrid next to a 115 premo thats a loss of 45 points.

So considering besides shaw most backs wont go 100 anything over 55 is actually ok.

Weits and Dea i think can combine for 130 a week.

Brown Tippa Hartley Adams should post 110+

kinda depends how much money you make up around the ground

Pendles + Hartley v Laird + Oliver who do you have scoring more?

I agree with everything said here and the comments regarding cash generation.

I'm warming to weits d3 the more the days go by.

blue

I have officially conceded defeat and dropped a mid premium to fit all the expensive rookies in.

I rate gault - great chance to make some big cash...if he kicks a bag of 4 or 5, that's precisely what you want out of a rookie..hit up that negative break even

Pendlebury is the only player you can pick with any certainty though. Laird could easily do a "Brodie Smith 2015".

So Yarran will be out for 6 weeks as he is now going in for surgery apparently

Broad comes back into my side

Conca put onto the LTI so hopefully Marcon gets a promotion

Weitering vs Emack?

Weits

Slightly cheaper and have similar JS and should score around the same.
Score about the same ??
Similar JS .... ???
1st year albeit top rook (at a highprice) v experienced top defender returning from injury
Hmmm
Historically Emac SC scores from 2010 his starting season are 64 56 64 69 75 0

Consider another WCE defender McGovern - pretty good player at young age but 1st 4 years SC scores 0(1 game - too skinny) 0 (2 games) 82 80

The current bench mark = Heath Shaw 1st 4 years from 2005 72 (last 6 games of season) 106 92 95 around 20 pocessions a game

I follow WCE, unless the game plan changes Emac is 80max IMO more like 72 - 75

Snap shot of Weitering from the little I have seen his role is closer to Shaw, loose in defence, intercept mark, kicking to breaking players - Reckon he has potential to go bigger - more upside

The $20K difference in pricing -Weitering cheaper - bye suits my structure

Yes Weitering for me D5/D6

kilbluff1985

going to laugh so hard when Weitering averages 60 and everyone regrets picking him

I am expecting 70 which will be fine by me :) 60 could be a problem  :P

Carlton and Essendon's backlines should be seeing plenty of the footy you would think so these back rookies will get their opportunities.
