I currently have Mills, Oliver, Simpkin, Gresham and Polkinghorne as mid rookies, pretty tempting to drop Simpkin for Davis if names round 1.

That's way too much coin to be spent on mid rookies. The rest of your team would be compromised as a result without a doubt.

I think Simpkin will average 70 at best but more likely around the 65 mark so I would turf him for a cheaper guy who is likely to average around the same. I think going with one of Mills or Oliver is fine but both is overkill.

People said exactly the same thing to me last year when I went in with Cripps, Brayshaw and Heeney... At this stage I always lock in the expensive rooks because if anything I can downgrade, then it means I have more cash to play with elsewhere. The opposite is locking in the cheap outside prospects and then having to figure out which prem to downgrade when you need extra cash because half your rooks aren't playing. I'd rather be in a position where I'm happy with my team but if anything changes it will be positive rather than negative ;)

You know you're addicted to Supercoach when you're plan your unlimited trades in preparation for more unlimited trades prior to lock out... which will hopefully put you in the best position to make more future trades

Why are you all so confident in Grimley? Do you think Dons will play him with McKernan, Daniher up front or with Leuey in the Ruck? Plus if he plays as a key forward in the worst team in the league, what are you expecting him to score? Honestly I'm very curious to hear other peoples thoughts on him, for the life of me I can't see him being a good pick at this point in time

I was originally all over him, but cooled off the last few days, and now have Kommer again as I think he should score about 10ppg better

Yeah I've dropped Grimley across the board, far better scoring options out there, than to have the dude make 20k and sit there for the whole season...

If he plays round 1 I'll pick him mainly for ruck coverage in case my R1 or R2 picks up a 1-2 week injury at some stage. For the rest of the year I imagine he will warm the bench.

I think Grimley will play for sure. He's shown more than enough.

I like Grimley in there, very handy if my forward bench player has a day out, the double loophole could be very handy.

Not great news

Polkinghorne not looking likely for RD1
and Leuey edging closer to being ready so that's not great for Grimley

Got the same setup as you Tom

Grimley at R3 with Petracca at M11 - floating donut opening up dpp to all the mid rookies with dpp
ATM same setup.     Floating donut is worrying me after Petracca starts playing.  Not sure where I will find it.  I always feel I am down potential 10 point average without floating donut.

Grimley at R3

With Max King/Loersch at F8 providing perma floating donut.

Grimley can switch up forward if i need him.

I'm still thinking Currie at R3 and Grimley at F8 if both are named. I think Currie could average 65-70 and Grimely 55-60. Currie is better then Cam Wood and Wood averaged around 65 last year. Grimley will work well in tandem with Daniher as the two deep forwards, McKernan will be the guy that spells Leuenberger in the ruck and can push up the ground and hit the logos. I can see him scoring similarly to Dawes which is that range.

Ringo

looks like we can rule a line through both Davis and McPherson with the Suns promoting Danny Stanley to the senior list.

grimley only in my side for the DP

That's the other advantage of having Currie and Grimley, if Currie max's out with a 70 average and Grimley seems to be consistently getting games and averaging 60 I can trade Currie out for a forward and bring Grimley in for ruck cover.
