With Swallow out for a while I reckon MacPherson is a monty to get elevated and play

With that being said, I think I will plonk him at M11. Either him or Marcon should play I think so a 102k mid at M11 is a bonus

I don't see Marcon playing right from round 1 but Macpherson has to be a big chance now

Not sure he would be a good pick, but at least there seems to be a few R3 options popping up

<<His numbers haven’t been prolific, but there’s been glimpses of brilliance in the air and on the ground.>>

Seems like the HS trying to grab a feel good story. Can't see Chol playing this year, let alone round 1.

I'm one of Chol's biggest fans, the lad was 5cm shy of Naitanui's standing vertical, he's also one of the quickest ruckman on an AFL list. His marking is also exceptional, not for pack splitting but for gliding across and snatching the ball at it's highest point. The big question is his limited aerobic capacity and his wiry frame, he isn't a ruckman just yet and will have to spend some time in the gym, his AFL experience will have to consist of cameo efforts in the forward line. For my money he will be managed, can't see him stringing too many games together and can't see him being a SC king in his first year. Next year and beyond watch out because I think he was the steal of the rookie draft, a much better prospect than Nyuon and Daw. The thing I like most is the kid has aggression to go with the skills, you can't teach that.

Agree 100% Bully.  Watched him develop up here as well. Bear in mind he only started playing AFL only a matter of 3 years ago.  Sorry we did not rookie list him but we did not have room on our list due to commitments to delisted players.

An article on him that really sums up his family attitudes.  Maybe we may have a reverse go home factor  ;) ;)

Canot see him playing Round 1 but like Bully think he will be given games whilst he develops.

With Gary Rohan put onto the LTI list Nic Newman could be a chance.

Strong performer in the VFL from what i read

Yes, very decorated state league player, won the Fothergill-Round medal, others to do so have been Nahas, Barlow, Hibberd, Saad, Towers, Lambert & Marcon. It's almost a guarantee to land on an AFL list these days. A fair few 100 gamers in that batch too.

R3 might be a headache to choose but i'm hoping Grimley and Cox get named and have a DPP link

We have gone from having a big discussion whether we need ruck back up to having a real option now at R3.  I am not worried about the DPP just have to decide whether to select Grimley, Currie or Cox at R3.  Waiting to see who gets named.

GoLions

I wish we still had 2 spots on the ruck bench hahaha

Currie for me, should make plenty of moolah. Grimley on the forward bench. Cox can wait.

Do we reckon Currie could beat out Nicholls for the number one ruck spot? Didn't look too bad tonight against Naitanui, they could even play 2 rucks?

Very possible, Smith played 11 games last year & Nicholls 15, there were a handful they played together. All we need is half a dozen games from Currie and he becomes a nice cash cow, best case scenario is he plays all year.
