not too bad could still make rd 1 team

Harris Andrews is noticeably stronger entering his second season. At 19, the young key defender was a standout last year and looks to have improved ahead of 2016. He's still a way off reaching his ideal playing weight, but the extra strength in his upper body should pay off in one-on-one marking contests against more seasoned players. Recruits Tom Bell and Ryan Bastinac have impressed with their professionalism and led most of the running sessions. A couple of draftees have also turned heads. Ben Keays is right alongside Bell and Bastinac, while Rhys Mathieson has impressed with his bull-at-a-gate style in any contested training. No.2 draft pick Josh Schache has not missed a beat and given his housemate Daniel Merrett a few headaches in match simulation to date. - Michael Whiting

good too see a few rookies who we want to play get a mention

Trengove has apparently resumed full contact training, a sneaky chance for round 1 perhaps?

I'd love to see him come in around Rd 3-4 to be a nice downgrade target

Yeah just wish he was 30k cheaper, 156k is a bit awkward for an early downgrade

wow 156k is nice i thought he was much more. round 3-4 would be fantastic to get 3 price rises from a rookie. 120k guy can turn into a 220k easy then pocket a cool 60k while having a superior player. we get to see two games from trengove too which is a big plus.

Yep started full training last week

Still hasn't participated in match simulation though, so I wouldn't think he's a chance at playing round 1

LC - Pickett's defensive pressure was great and kicked a couple. Griffen was probably the stand-out early. He's keen to stamp his authority.

Draftees Jacob Hopper and Matthew Kennedy showed they'll be pushing for a senior spot in round one with strong showings through the middle of the ground.

love this

Not promising at all

@AFL @melbournefc If Petracca is fit for round one does he deserve a spot in the seniors? #AskTheCoach

Roos: Christian will play when his rehab and form allows it. He's coming back from a knee reco and foot injury.

fantastic downgrade targets are what I want.,

Broads likelihood of getting a round 1 game went up slightly with Yarrans injury. If he can put a couple of good games together during the nab he's a very good chance
