I can see about 20-30 rookie "names" that i "think" will get games this year, but in terms of who lines up rd1 at the moment i could only say these guys are the only current locks

Brown

Mills and Gresham and probably Polkinghorne

Kerridge and Petracca (if fit)

Heaps of names in defense and mids but not 100% certain yet until NAB
Let's hope we get about 10 more because I need about 13 rookies to start with

Although I have Gresham I am not convinced he is a lock to be in the 22 for the saints for rd 1

This is just my opinion on who are actually in the frame

Solid chances / Possible chances

DEF: Brown (Ess) Brown (WCE) Francis, WhiteX, Dea, Ashby, Hipwood, Otten, Byrne, Wigg, Wagner, Adams, Bonner, Broad, Collins, Hartley, Hibberd, Morgan, Rice, Tucker,

MID: Mills, Hopper, Parish, Gresham, Cunningham, Polkinghorne, M.Kennedy, Trengove (fitness), Fiorini (fitness), Keough, Freeman (fitness), Gore, Jansen, Morabito (Rookie), O"Kearney, Dunkley, Keays, Mathieson, Menegola, Sier, Marcon

FWD: B.Kennedy, Cockatoo, Kerridge, Petracca, Curnow, Ahern, Close, Kommer, Pickett, Sumner, Tipung-Mac

Wells/Simpkin at F5 is a must I reckon, because there isnt going to be a wide selection for forwards I think

I'll be going light down back with EMack at D4 because I think we should have enough options to fill the backline, and the same can be said with the mids - shouldnt be much dramas finding 5 or 6 rookie mids to start depending on what structure you decide to go with

Bill Manspeaker

I don't think Gresh is a lock for round one. he's still fairly slight and although he'll be a midfielder for us in the future, I think he'll start as a forward with stints in the midfield, which means he'll be competing with guys like Billings, Sinclair, maybe Membrey and we can't fit em all in. Billings and Sinclair are locks in our 22

I have no doubt he'll get games throughout the year but I don't think he's a lock for round one. this is only my opinion so don't take it to the bank. he's one to watch in the NAB fo sho

RD u don't rate Ryan Davis?

Is he on their senior list though?

Yeah I am pretty sure he isn't on their list ... Can see him being upgraded though but with the class returning into that team he is still only a player that will see time in and out of the side

Davis has really impressed so far but struggles with his tank. Will play as a fwd if he does play (and should)

Is Ryan Burton a viable option? Extremely talented, just had a horrific injury

Nope. Definitely won't play round 1.

No Milera Raisy? Has been training very strongly and is every chance to line up round 1. If named he is a lock for me, has already proven he can cut it against men and has a very high ceiling.

I left him out because I have not heard anything about him in regards to his likeliness of actually playing early, and being a bit more pricier

Would he play forward or more in the middle of the ground? Don't know enough about him in terms of potential SC output

Like I said above, that list was just my thoughts - nothing really too meaningful at this stage, more so just a guide in terms of who to use as placeholders, structures etc

Can play both forward and midfield, with Menzel in the frame I suspect Milera will get some time on the wing, something which he has done at SANFL level and has absolutely thrived. Scoring wise he has a very high ceiling, can kick multiple goals and has excellent disposal. Perhaps the thing I like most about him is that he's very slippery and difficult to tackle, this gives him time to dispose of the ball correctly. Apparently he's been training exceedingly well and will line up in the NAB Cup.

He looks pretty scrawny.... so you don't think Adelaide will focus on building his body up more this year and just give him a handful of games?
