And Trent West? Will he see any game time at Brisbane?

As a cats fan was pretty glad to see him moved on, he always looked slow to me, would grit my teeth when he got the ball, watching that slow decision making handball that either got him caught or put the receiver under enormous pressure, old fashion ruckman is how i viewed him, just a personal opinion.
Don't know the Brisbane list very well or what their young tall/ruck stocks are like atm but i'd rather play a youngster second fiddle to Martin over West, maybe a chance if Martin gets a LTI.
Maybe the lions have found a way to increase a lumbering Giants agility  ::)

Brayden Fiorini. Pick 20 so the Suns obviously rate him. Averaged 30 disposals and 127.3 DT points in the TAC Cup. Oliver averaged 100.8 and Hopper averaged 99.8. Get around him.

But with so many guns returning, is he likely to get early games?

I'm seeing more positive news about Defence rookies than any other line at the moment, is any one willing to take a punt on 3 premo/3 rookie starting back line?

I had a play and having Buddy F4 + Luey F5 or Sloane/TMitch at M5 + Libba M6 looks pretty damn good :)

Have had this strategy from the get go. Defensive rookies look good this year

Damn I forgot about that, now I remember you were talking about this a while ago.  Haha I didn't mean to steal your thunder Rico, I even emailed myself your original list back in Dec so I wouldn't forgot any names :)

MBrown - should play at Essendon with Carlisle gone now
Wagner - mature ager thats gone to Melb. Will play imo
Tucker is a bit ify but he's a gun kid and can see him slotting in across half back for Freo
Adams is already huge and ready to go
Nathan Broad - mature ager and Richmond need his run and carry out of defence imo
Mitch Brown - will be like Nath Brown this year
Clem Smith - 50/50 - but Blues will get games into some of these kids
Golds - 50/50 - moved to the pies and their backline is far from set
MHibberd - 50/50 - but is a good size and ready to go
Whitecross - 50/50 - Suckling gone now but a bit more expensive at 198k
AFrancis - should play but a bit more expensive
Mullett - 50/50 - but i like him
Andy Otten - unlikely - just had a cleanout of the knee but will be back training at the end of Jan

I remember Rico spewing forth his love of the defensive rookies too. Read about dogs draftee defender Collins this morning and thought was he on Rico's list or is he another one?
My personal opinion is if you go cheap anywhere defence is where you do it due to the fact they don't score as well.
Having said that I think you need to commit to 2 premiums and this year there's another couple I like who represent good value at 400-450k...d5-8 look like all being rookies in mine.
As for the 1 Collins rule... It's funny and I like it.
What about a 1 Brown rule? 1 Martin rule? etc

I'm not entirely convinced on going cheap down back

We might see a handful line up Rd1, and then be gone by Rds 2 or 3

NAB challenge is going to give us much more clarity

3 prem 3 rookie set up here

could work. just think RD could be right. rd1 they might all play then come rd2 all dropped. you just never know

I understand your concern, but at the moment I think in the 117-123k range the defence rookies are looking the best

Cheap fwd rookies are a bit iffy and the midfield is solid in that price range but no better than defence

But as you said it will become clearer during NAB

an interesting observatiuon from Lions Intraclub trial today .

One of the forward lines consisted of Walker, Schache and Hipwood. So Hipwood could be a possibility with Schache an almost certainty.

For those that are looking at Keays I would scratch him as Matthieson played all over him today.  Matthieson is playing to prove he should not have gone where he did in the draft.  (Lions Steal).
