Do people really want Hartley and Brown on the field ? I don't bench only for me , back to the drawing board  :-\

dude it's like 39c there today wouldn't read much into today

Mat0369

I have 3 premo forwards and Mills which means I can go Mills, Gresh, Menadue and Marcon/Davis with Wells, Kennedy, Kerridge, Kommer and Grimley. Meanwhile down back I am taking the hit and starting Harwood, Weits, Brown and Hartley.

So Hartley goes 100, then 86 but now one bad score people are worried. LOL come on

D5 and D6 are usually the lowest scoring positions to start with every year anyway, so I'm not worried and def wouldn't be changing my entire structure around just because of them

serious supercoachers don't worry about this crap.

Davis is a great price and the right age.  What's his likelihood of lining up in GC round 1 team.

Depends on the fitness of Ablett and Prestia. Omeara and Swallow missing early games will help but he could be the first to go when everyone's back

Swallow will go on the LTI list. JOM could as well. Prestia is 50/50 for round 1 and Ablett will be right.

Davis will likely be promoted to the senior list for Swallow and is a good chance for round 1.

OK, so having a look at the mid rookie options that are 123k and below I honestly think that as of now the only options that are possible to line up rd1 are:

Davis and Marcon

LOL, that's disastrous!

I'm going with Petracca and praying that one of Davis or Marcon get named, but other than that there seems to be bugger all options

Gresham is in, and then it's Mills, Oliver and Parish that seem to be the only other options (excluding DPP options)

With such a lack of cheap options, and considering I am starting Petracca, what are peoples thoughts of starting Polkinghorne too? I know it's mildly risky, but as soon as he is fit I expect him to walk straight in.

Tempted...

Too risky to have both Polk and Petracca on the bench round 1. You can pick one of them as a floating donut early and with the DPP clearly the better choice is Petracca.

I have shuffled my team around a bit and have Mills M8. I am happy to have him there.

Gresham is a lock as my M9. With the forward rookies being plentiful I have moved Menadue onto the midfield bench as M10 and hope one of Davis or Marcon play round 1 as M11.

I would be happy with that.

Might as well just start Essendon in the Def, Dea, Hartley, Brown, Tippawooti all pickable

Yep, Tippa might be a good option to field as well, seems more reliable.

As for Kommer, confirmed my suspicions that he's a dud and will struggle given the ball won't be within cooee of the forward line. McCarthy for me, even though he costs a little more.

Has never been in my side, and never will. Might have the grunt and pressure they need, but in terms of SC he is a spud

Dea, Brown and Hartley down back with Tippa in the forward line. Dea and Hartley will be on the field every week at D4/5 and one of Adams, Broad, Brown or Tippa will field D6 pending form. I've just updated my team thread and am very happy with the links, cover and players I have selected

Just got rid of Mathieson as he is now unlikely, so moved Menadue to M9 and bought in Milera

I tried to tell you that there was a lack of rookie options --- got shot down in flames

Very good call back then Eaglesman.

Good under $175k options are few and far between.

If it wasn't for the Essendon saga this year would be the most unique year of SuperCoach ever.

When low end teams like the lions and the blues can't even fit in 123k rookie priced players it makes for an interesting year of SuperCoach.

And as for the AFL competition, should be extremely competitive year.
