- Each team has 24 hours to pick, but if you are online during the time of your pick, you only have 2 hours to make that selection (co-coaches need to be wary of this). After this time you'll be auto picked the next available player from the AFL draft, or alphabetically if no AFL draft players remain

Apologies and I missed that as i read through.

Anyway my pick will be delayed a little anyway as I waiting for assistants to get back to me on a choice out of 2 players seeing Nige took original choice in Curnow.

Far out, why can't we just avoid this shower?

Purple was on line but has since gone off, I sent him a PM giving my views as I think there is an injustice here.

1) Rules are not in our rule book or in this thread so how can you enforce a rule that is not written in either place.  Know it has been assumed but not being written makes it hard to enforce.
2) jukes was implicit in his statement that Torp would be taking draft picks and as that is an instruction should be respected.

I have offered to defer my pick till decision if in favour of Torp is made allowing him to pick.

First paragraph in the thread, but not in the official rule book. However, it is a rule we have applied for 4 years now.

DRAFT IS OPEN

We need to wait until final list lodgements. Likely start will be sometime between December 1st-3rd

NOTES:
- You can not go over 30,000 points BE CAREFUL WHEN PICKING PLAYERS WITH POINTS ATTACHED
- You only get a pick in the preseason (and a first crack at the rookies) if you pass a pick in the International Draft
- Each team has 24 hours to pick, but if you are online during the time of your pick, you only have 2 hours to make that selection (co-coaches need to be wary of this). After this time you'll be auto picked the next available player from the AFL draft, or alphabetically if no AFL draft players remain
- If you plan to pass a certain pick, you may want to do it in advance so we don't have to wait for you to pass.
- You can also choose to have a pick automatically selected in advance; which will be the highest AFL draft pick available. If all AFL draft picks are picked, we then go alphabetically from the delisted players.
- TO USE A PRE-SEASON DRAFT PICK, YOU MUST PASS ON AN INTERNATIONAL DRAFT PICK

Look, I don't think this selection should be forced in the first valuable 10 picks. But, what should I do now? Force Nige to take back his pick and force an injustice on him?

Whatever decision I make, someone is gonna blame me like it's my fault.

At the end of the day, assuming HP or Daz PMed Jukes & Torp, Moscow could have taken preventative measures... Jukes could have come on and asked for the pick to be deferred, which given his previous post, I reckon we all would have happily allowed. Jukes also, in that same post, could have said he wished to be exempt from the 2 hour rule, which I think we also would have happily allowed. Torp also could have sent Jukes a PM detailing his preference list, in the event Jukes is online and Torp wasn't.

So, I'm unfortunately (for Moscow) gonna have to enforce the rule we have done for 4 years. If I make an exception now, then all the other times in the past 4 years where people were subject to the auto-selection would be showerty, and then all the people in the future will be showerty. Rules are rules.

I wasn't PMed, not that it really mattered in the end.

Good call Purp.

Moscow got a great player anyway.

the great news is given they have been complaining about Sinclair all year.

When Weitering comes out and kills it we can say its lucky you were gifted him.

+1

Champion Data had Weitering ranked as the 4th best prospect and he was the Number 1 pick so it's not exactly a bad get

Moscow also have 11 to jag a gun too

It's tough. I was lucky I jumped on when I did last night as Daz leaves drafting to me. Most know that which is why I at least have him a list in case I was out still. It's because now that he is a co-coach the clock was ticking as jb pointed out to me yesterday before I left so got me wary.

And I also warned Jukes about it as its happened in the past :P.

I must have forgotten as I just checked and sent it to Torp and not this account. I was pretty tired so my bad there. I also told Jukes not to come back online after my pick :x.

Sending a PM is just a courtesy.

We all know that when you log on, you have 2 hours regardless of whether you received a courtesy PM or not

Pretty sure Ringo only has about 15 mins left now too

OK to get back to the draft and as I have not heard back from my assistant coach making this selection but on our list of priorities.

No secret that Royals need forwards so we will take Josh Schache with pick 10.  And no Lions bias here as he was rated 3 in CD Top 30 draft rankings.

Torp has been PM'd

Torpedo10

Damn, that was who I wanted with 8  >:(

Pick will be up soon enough.

was sure you would just auto pick him. Gun pick ringo.

second best forward in the draft after Kennedy :P

RaisyDaisy

Well, I thought the guys I wanted might not have been around by 12 but it looks like I am going to have a few to select from and that's going to be difficult because the other 2 I don't pick probably wont last until our next picks at 19 and 20

Getting interesting now!

Was tempted to go to autopick but in the context of drafting thought it better to formally pick him.
