RICHMOND star Brett Deledio looks set to miss Sunday’s match against Hawthorn.

The 29-year-old forward on Thursday morning conceded his right calf still felt “a little bit tight”.

Deledio will train away from the main group today, clinging to hope the muscle may still loosen up in time to allow him to line up against the Hawks.

“It’s probably still a little bit tight, I’ll see what I can do at training today and then leave it in the medical guys’ hands as to what they think is best for me and wait until Sunday.

“If it’s not feeling great then I’ve still got another couple of days to see whether it gets all right, no rush at the moment.”

Deledio experienced tightness in the calf during last Saturday’s hard-fought win over Essendon at the MCG.

But scans on Monday cleared him of any serious damage.

“My gut feel is that it might need a little bit extra time, you just don’t know,” Deledio told RSN 927.

“I wasn’t concerned one bit until I went to do a warm up in the rooms at halftime and just started to feel a little bit tight,” he said.

“It felt very similar to what it did round one a couple of years ago when I played through it ... (ended up) costing me three or four weeks (on the sidelines), knew that if I stopped there I’m a chance to get it early and hopefully not miss too many.”

Deledio said scans showed damage deep and “reasonably high” in the soleus muscle.

Just read this article too, but those two bolded statements have me really worried

Do we trade him? I don't want to be stuck holding him if it turns out to be 3+, and if we hold we're just going to have to rely on weekly updates and hope

Damn, really undecided what to do

Theres a few ppl with the  belief that Lids wont play again this year. If he doesnt play next week, they might be right. Libbas back so I have adequate cover. Dahl back next week so I can afford to wait for now.

Theres still six rounds of the season to go. Even a torn calf and you'd think he'd play again.

shaker

So much for the reports of no major damage then come out and say scans show damage deep and high , maybe by no major damage they meant not torn in half haha any way it is time to say bye bye to Lids just 1 round this year I would like to have no rookies on the field that is of course if Bartel , Laird and Libba play this week  ;)

PowerBug

Didn't he misses like 6 weeks with a 1 weeks calf injury last year? Would not be surprised if he didn't show up again in 2016

I think I am going to hold him this week, just because it gives me another week to see if I don't cop another LTI

If I get through to next week unscathed and Lids is still not in, then I think he's done for the year and I will move him on

I just hope Gunston doesn't have a day out this week because I need him to not go up much at all to be able to afford him next for Lids

Jay

Just the fact he's even in the mix this week is great news, if it was serious they would have just ruled him out. He'll have plenty of time to rest his calves soon, as will the whole Richmond side :P

Any word on Mcveigh injury?
I'd say just a rest, has looked extra slow the last couple weeks though

hall out till round 21

http://www.goldcoastfc.com.au/news/2016-07-22/injury-update-aaron-hall

not a lot of choice to replace him with when you only have 459.2k and have been starting Hall.. Only 4 trades left so don't want to double trade to upgrade him..

Thoughts on who to trade to? (I already have Green). This would be for F6.. B Harvey, C Smith, Wingard & JJK are the main options I can see
