Triple M posted an article stating that Charlie Dixon will play NAB 3 for Port.

For those interested in Westhoff that would be a positive. It would mean that Westhoff doesn't necessarily have to play forward all the time.

Rodney Eade tells First Bounce that Jaeger O'Meara will likely play his first NEAFL game about round 4 or 5.

Been well known for months up here (as I have ranted on occasions) that JOM would not be ready for round 1

Nice to see it in print from the coach's mouth but sad for him and supporters. No surprise for most on FF...wasn't in too many teams I saw of late.

Gary Rohan out 8 weeks. Who benefits?

Mills perhaps if they're planning to play him in the backline?

I've seen a few mention Nic Newman could be elevated to fill his roll too, but we shall see

Thurlow is down holding the knee. He looks in really bad shape with the way he is reacting. Stretcher is on the way out. Quite possibly an ACL

Lavarde is hobbling around with an ankle injury on the bench. McKernan also went down with a leg/ankle in a ruck contest when he landed. He is down in the rooms so the injuries are racking up.

Definitely looks bad for Thurlow. Poor kid.

Good news for Shane Mumford.
The Giants ruckman cleared of serious ankle injury and is expected to play Round 1.

http://www.afl.com.au/news/2016-03-06/yarran-on-the-run-is-shock-return-on-the-cards

QuoteRICHMOND recruit Chris Yarran has backed up claims of a shock early return from injury, showcasing his improved fitness with a strong training run on Sunday morning.

Yarran was all but ruled out for the first third of the season just three weeks ago by coach Damien Hardwick, but his touch at Punt Road Oval suggested otherwise.

Teammate Bachar Houli has even suggested Yarran could return for the Tigers' blockbuster season opener against his former club Carlton in just 18 days.

That remains unlikely, given Hardwick's firm stance that the Tigers would not rush Yarran back until he had done the required work to play, but he has clearly made quick progress in the past three weeks.

On Sunday, Yarran completed the full 90-minute training session at Punt Road Oval, moving well and receiving no special treatment for his troubled calf, which he injured twice over the summer.

He kicked well on both feet, took part in all agility work and tackling and wasn't protected from any contact drills.

Star teammate Jack Riewoldt said the 25-year-old had also made strong progress with his physical conditioning.

"At the moment he's tracking along nicely; he's doing a lot of extra hard work just to catch up," Riewoldt said after training on Sunday.

"He's got behind unfortunately just because he's had a couple of niggling calf injuries, but he's on top of those at the moment and he's looking really fit.

"I'd love to see him out there as soon as possible, but we'll do what's best for Chris and his body.

"There's no point rushing him back for round one or two or whenever."

Interesting. It could have some implications on Menadue and Broad if he does get up to play early?

That's great news for Mummy.

Although I believe he's in serious doubt for round 2 and beyond.

Confirmed Thurlow has an ACL with a full reconstruction required.  Feel for the lad just when he was cementing his place in the cats team.

That's terrible news. ACL's are so cruel, but the thing that is worrying is that they seem to be happening more and more often nowadays??
