Looked like a knock rather than a strain. No need to risk aggravating it. Wouldn't worry.

QuoteGOLD Coast's midfield woes have continued with David Swallow set to miss up to half the season.

Swallow had an arthroscope on his left knee last week and results have come back showing bone bruising.

The 2014 best and fairest winner could miss up to eight weeks in rehabilitation and another eight with training to regain fitness, which would take his return date to the season's mid-point.

Good news for Macpherson

O'Meara likely to be out for a fair bit of the start of the season as well also helps Macpherson.

Longmire: Jarrad McVeigh and Ben McGlynn probably won't play round 1. Ted Richards and Sam Reid are the two that are in the mix.

The not unexpected news but confirmation McVeigh will not play Rd 1.
