Gold Coast SUNS midfielder David Swallow has suffered an injury setback.

Swallow underwent arthroscopic surgery in Melbourne on Tuesday after suffering discomfort in his knee.

General Manager â€" Football Operations, Marcus Ashcroft, confirmed Swallow wouldn’t return as early as was expected.

"David had an arthroscopy after experiencing some discomfort in his left knee.

“The arthroscope revealed that David’s recovery hadn’t progressed as well as had hoped and as a result his return to football will be delayed,” Ashcroft said.

Ashcroft outlined an expected return date was unknown at this stage but should become clearer in the next few days.

“Our medical team will review the information and consult further. We will have a clearer picture regarding ongoing management later in the week.”

He's seeing the Doc and Freo don't expect surgery, but i haven't seen anything more than that.

Looking like a nice downgrade target

Thanks mate, been scrambling to find stuff on it and couldn't find jack.
Hope it's very minor. I don't put rookies in my teams after one NAB game but I did with him, I thought one more game like that and even Ross may crack and give the kid a game Rnd 1. Flat as pancake when I seen a tweet saying there'd been a hiccup with his knee. I even gave him me +3 on the DT Talk podcast.  :'(

Yeh man he is a very very good kid and i think i've mentioned before i expect him to play a few games this year, our side is far from set. This will make it very hard for him for RD1 though which is disappointing

Agree mate, makes round 1 real hard when it looked a chance, shame.

Is anyone else struggling to find a decent list of injuries? AFL list is down for some reason. If someone could link one that would be amazing! Cheers

Don't think it's down, they probably don't know either, or are just neglecting it for the time being.
Even the club websites I have checked have no such 'injury list' at this stage

Probably a combination of clubs keeping their cards close to their chest and not giving two showers about listing them because the season has not even started, and they don't care about updating fantasy coaches

Gunston was in moon boot last week but Hawks confident he will play Rd 1.  Says precautionary but gee I hate foot injuries as they seem to linger on.

Yeh moon boots are tough to judge, these days they chuck them on for just about anything
