Suns being cautious and no need to risk him as the lions will be resting a number of their stars as well.

“He could have played and he could play next week but we are not going to,’’ he said.

“He has a mild foot strain which is a little bit grumbly at the moment, so we have off-loaded him today and he just did some work on the bike.

“But he has had such a great pre-season there is no point risking him, he wouldn’t have played three NAB games anyway."

If it was NAB 3 or round 1 Gaz would have played. I don't think we should be worrying about it too much.

Yep they are playing WC in rd2 of the NAB Cup.

FREMANTLE midfielder Lachie Neale has avoided serious injury after an incident at training on Friday sparked concern.

Neale was reportedly carried from the field during the Dockers’ intra-club match and wasn’t able to put any weight on his knee.

However, Fremantle assistant coach Mark Stone confirmed Dockers fans didn’t need to be worried.

“It was just a bit of a knee-on-knee collision, but he’s fine,” Stone told the club's website.

Apart from this minor foot niggle he has ATM he has had his best pre season since joining the Suns. Would be ballsy not to pick him round 1 v a ragtag Bombers side.

Lets see what unfolds if he plays any NAB cup he seems to be having injuries all the time these days and the ragtag bombers have Crowley now , I don't believe all the talk about how Crowley will be used they have got him to tag the best players in other teams to try and limit the carnage

I can understand the need to be cautious when it is not necessary for him to play.  Ablett has only played 3 preseason games in the 5 seasons he has been with Suns.  Why also would you subject one of your most valuable players to 2 trips to perth in 4 weeks (Suns have to travel to Perth for Round 2).  It is amazing that as a result of last 2 years injuries any minor scare turns to be major with him.  How many prem players sat out intraclub trails without too much as an eyebrow being raised because of minor niggles.

I know what you are saying Ringo but I don't really believe club reports on there injured players much any more I am just being cautious let see if the minor foot niggle is just that because as good as Gaz is he has shown he does not handle injuries that well
