JOM in Suns the interesting one.  Ryan Burton in Hawks another one that may raise concern.
Freeman from St Kilda would appear doubtful for Rd 1.

"but with O'Meara yet to attempt change-of-direction work, no chances will be taken"

Yeah that's not really encouraging

Beams and Rocky sat out of the intra club yesterday. Don't pick them.

Yup. Don't touch him, the cuts ended his season before it started.

Terrible news with Paul Ahern rupturing his ACL

http://www.gwsgiants.com.au/news/2016-02-08/ahern-acl-blow

Young GIANTS midfielder Paul Ahern will undergo a knee reconstruction after rupturing his ACL at training this morning.

Scans revealed the need for a surgery on the 19-year-old’s right knee.

Ahern was selected with pick 7 at the 2014 NAB AFL Draft and was a consistent performer for the GIANTS’ reserves side in the NEAFL in 2015.

GIANTS Head of Athletic Performance David Joyce said: “We’re all really disappointed for Paul who’s had a great pre-season and was progressing really well.

“We’ve got Paul’s long term welfare as our first thought so we’ll now look to determine the best course of action to ensure he can return stronger than ever.”

Ahern will meet with a knee specialist this week.

Anthony Morabito had scans on Tuesday, which confirmed that he suffered a tear to his left hamstring at training on Monday.

He will undertake a rehabilitation program, with club medical staff using key performance indicators to determine his return to full training.

The 24-year-old is expected to train with the club’s rehab group for the next six weeks.
