Not really SC relevant but Mitch Hallahan ruled out for 2 months with a broken foot.

Indirectly good news for Lonergan who may stay in the team even if Swallow returns.

Lonergan was going to be dropped?  :o
Think Lonergan could be in the firing line when Swallow returns but with this injury he may be a little more safe.

Disagree completely. Lonergan is clearly best 22
Fair enough but remember O'Meara is to come back as well.  It is up to Lonergan to ensure that he stays in team though.

Eade stated from the moment he took over that Lonergan was going to be part of GCS midfield future.

The began that grooming process by following around the Stars of the game.

He was moving to a permanent role in midfield in 2016 regardless of the injuries.

Rosa and Rischitelli are not the future.

QuoteGeelong ruckman/forward Nathan Vardy will be sidelined for up to six weeks after suffering a foot ligament sprain in last weekend’s VFL practice game at Simonds Stadium.

Vardy suffered the injury when his opponents’ knee landed on his foot following a marking contest. The injury does not require surgery.

I agree with you ringo. If they get their players back any time soon, I question whether he is best 22. He definitely becomes very fringe.

Nevertheless most people have picked lonergan as a stepping stone yeah?

i have picked him by the way as a stepping stone but if he maintains place in the 22 when stars come back could be my permanent d6 if averaging 85/90.

Justin Clarke has announced his retirement from Football due to his latest bout of concussion - Really feel for him after cementing a position in Brisbanes back line.

Deledio won't play, Maric is unlikely.

An update - Clarke is studying to be an aeronautical engineer so hopefully can fulfill his dream here.  Very emotional presser and from reports lots of tears from the boys.   Not a bad goal for a 22 year old.

and the very emotional presser posted
