For someone who can move and be as agile as Stef for his size, I can't believe how terrible he is when chucked outside of playing ruck

Could be a confidence issue? If I know I'm an elite ruckman with a fantastic set of skills and usually top-tier production but Leppa feels the need to play another, inferior-quality ruckman alongside me to take away my time in my natural position I'd be pretty pissed.

Statistically speaking Archie has been pretty impressive early days

Yeah you could be spot on there

Although I don't rate Stef as an elite 'ruck', more so an 'elite 5th mid/ruck' and average 'ruckman'
There's no hiding the fact that West was played because Stef ain't a great ruckman and same will happen again. Although I don't agree to the fact that he's pissed and hence will play like shower. He's a handy ball user and pretty mobile. No reason why he shouldn't be able to snag a few or even clunk a few marks while up forward. He does nothing when he goes there

HappyDEZ

Generally speaking any ruckmans score is going to coincide with his time spent in the ruck as opposed to time spent in a forward pocket. Ideally about 80% in the ruck. With West he was around the 50/50 even less at times.

Ricochet

Or... it is simply he is around the ball more as a ruck and never near it in the Brisbane forward line

Where is it written that if Stef comes back Smith will play to ?

Nowhere, but Archie has been really good the last two weeks.

Yes stats don't lie he has been good but really against Port who have no ruck to speak of and the first gamer  for the Crows just about matched him but saying that Leppa has no clue he may even bring West in as well  :P

LOL West was named in GCS 2s best in a 135 flogging at the hands of Sydney. Kicked one of their only 3 goals as well. Shoe in!

Looks like Naismith gets another gig this weekend if brissie plays two rucks.    Also have Lycett.   Bloody nicnat is stuffing him up so he is just benchwarmer material for finals.

bonebones

Tiprat not back for another week so Naismith will defo play this round.

So he's finally gone for the season so I can finally trade him out. Wish I knew 3 rounds ago as I'd probably be quite a few positions higher in overall but at least I can act now with surety and be done with it.

PowerBug

I've had a really bad season so with this being the one point I actually can brag about something I will. So....

I told you so :P Lids was never coming back this season
Leader of the King Karl Amon fan club
Coach of WXV side Rio De Janeiro Jaguars
2023 SC: Rank 126

RaisyDaisy

Not surprised at all. Pretty much sums up my year
