Maybe Gaz will never get back to his lofty heights injury seems to be a regular thing this past year or 2 with him don't think I will start him got 2 games before any price change ....watching
Apart from this minor foot niggle he has ATM he has had his best pre season since joining the Suns. Would be ballsy not to pick him round 1 v a ragtag Bombers side.

Lets see what unfolds if he plays any NAB cup he seems to be having injuries all the time these days and the ragtag bombers have Crowley now , I don't believe all the talk about how Crowley will be used they have got him to tag the best players in other teams to try and limit the carnage
I can understand the need to be cautious when it is not necessary for him to play.  Ablett has only played 3 preseason games in the 5 seasons he has been with Suns.  Why also would you subject one of your most valuable players to 2 trips to perth in 4 weeks (Suns have to travel to Perth for Round 2).  It is amazing that as a result of last 2 years injuries any minor scare turns to be major with him.  How many prem players sat out intraclub trails without too much as an eyebrow being raised because of minor niggles.

agreed. jpk sat outta 1st one and he's fine

Is there a slight concern now for Crouch as well?

"ADELAIDE will adopt a "risk-free" policy with Brad Crouch during the NAB Challenge after the luckless midfielder pulled up with general soreness from his starring role in Friday's intraclub match, coach Don Pyke says. "

Yep, I totally agree with you, but that was my 2015 campaign done and dusted, wasted six trades on GAJ and Rocky in and out the team. If there's a hint of an injury or interupted pre-season, I aint mucking about this season. Crouch is the next one struck of the list of possibles.

Potentially ... Just have to watch and see

Many will be rested during nab but yes it is a slight concern given his injuries

McVeigh still hasn't joined the Swans' main training group since having knee surgery at the end of last season, and will take over from senior coach John Longmire when his side takes on Port at Blacktown on Saturday.

The 30 year-old isn't expected to take any part in this year's NAB Challenge and is in serious doubt to prove his fitness in time for the club's opening game of the season against Collingwood at ANZ Stadium in round one.

I pull up sore from going to the gym sometimes, but im normally completely fine a few days to a week later

Dayne Beams

This is still a little worrying for those considering him including myself.

"Just a few light handballs and kicks to warm up for @beama9 today and then back to the club. Still has quite a bit to tick off b4 playing."

He would have to play at least 1 NAB game to be considered.

"Brisbane Lions defender Justin Clarke has been ruled out of football indefinitely due to concussion. "

Feel for the lad but players welfare must come first and with the amount of concussion injuries caution to be exercised, Just hope the AFL now treat this as injuries when compensating players and we do not have the protracted court cases we now see.

Gardiner would be the obvious replacement in the 22 unless we blood Hipwood early with McStay filling Clarkes role.

"Masten suffered a high sprain to his left ankle and is not expected to be available for 8-10 weeks."

Can't hurt Duggans JS and scoring potential

Imo masten is barely best 22 at the Eagles ... Now that he starts the season out ,,, he will struggle to displace players whom he battles for a spot with .... Duggan sheed and Hutchings will entrench themselves ahead of him

It will be interesting to see how the team shapes up without him and how the early results are going. If its smooth sailing and there's no obvious under-performers I see him spending a few weeks in the WAFL to get himself up to match speed.

I can't see him being stuck in there though for any longer than a month max though.

RaisyDaisy

Bit harsh lads. Masten is easily best 22

Might need a week or two in the WAFL just to get his fitness and form back but he walks into the 22

elephants

His problem is largely his disposal efficiency. Its much better than it was but it's still below some of his competitors. Once he's fit I can't see him not playing though

Sheppard Emac Schofield
Wellingham McGovern hurn
Jetta priddis gaff
Lecras darling yeo
Lycett Kennedy Cripps
Naitanui shuey redden
Sheed Duggan Hutchings masten

Next 4: Hill brown Ellis butler

He definitely is not best 18 mate so scraping onto the bench is hardly easily best 22.
