I know its only early days but has anyone researched last years subs yet.

Most subbed for each team, Avg TOG and pts scored.

I know with subs coming on with fresh legs late in the 3rd, that their pt's to TOG ratio can be artificially inflated. Still with the sub rule now abolished and if we take teams player trades into account, surely we might find some cash gems?

I definitely plan on doing this myself but thought i might start a thread in case any wise coaches are ahead of the curve and want to share some insight on their Sub Smokies!

Maybe even ya thoughts on how without the sub rule, it might effect the amount of young rookies to debut this season.
ie those that might not have developed the required tank to suit their teams gameplan yet. Freo's Blakely comes to mind off the top of my head.

There is lot of water to pass under the bridge before season's bounce but i think more research this pre-season will be critical.

Zak Jones got the green vest in a couple of Swans games but didnt score that well in full games.

Some are calling him a smokey but stay away at this stage

If you do this you also need to take into accow the game situation when they come on. SOme players will be inflated because they come on in a close game and do a few good things, others come on in junk time and the points scaling will be less.

The other one that needs to be looked at is amount of times interchanged. With the reduction in interchanges. Players are likely to be rested forward more, allowing for more points to be scored. Players who were interchanged alot will likely be the ones that dont rest forward.
For example someone like Priddis is unlikely to rest forward reducing his value in relation to a Pendles who will rest forward more often.

wouldn't it be possible to just assess games where tog is >50%.   this should cut out most of the noise.
