He probably won't play round 1 but if he does then I think he will be a very popular pick.

Chances are they'll ease him into the season... Nice sideways trade when a mid rookie reaches 350k at r7 I think. On the proviso he doesn't play in the first couple of rounds

The article says that when they use the word "round one" it could mean either the AFL or the NEAFL - Sport journos are the worst :P

I'm hoping he makes a round 1 return but I think Eade is smart enough to ease him back into the AFL (I would say round 4 would be the earliest possible AFL return for him). If they play him round one that have rushed.

Should be a good sideways trade for any early cash cows (unlikely) or a downgrade/opt out for any underperforming premium that people may start (if anything - this is the season to start "high risk vs. reward" premiums in your side, plenty of opt outs available  :D )

For XVIII's I'm hoping that O'Meara returns soon, but I don't want the Suns to take any risks with him (I'm happy to wait as he is still only 21 years old)

Yeah agreed, don't think he will be in my team round 1. Just thought I would post the article so people could see how he was travelling.

I really hope he can defy expectations and have a big comeback this season. I've always pinned him as a future +115 averaging SCer. I really hope that an insignificant NEAFL game doesn't ruin that for him  :-\

I read up on ruptured patella tendons when the news broke last season and apparently, with surgery and physiotherapy, athletes return to their previous form

It would definitely be one of the more horrible injuries to experience  :-\

If he doesn't play at least 1 nab game I won't consider him. And that goes for any of my players.
Picking Ablett last year has taught me that lesson

That's fair enough, it is a tough injury to come back from. Conservatively, I would not expect too much from O'Meara until 2017-8

Don't want to open up that can of worms  :P

I could personally see him at any of the Victorian teams or either WA side (Dockers would probably the be the more interested party of the two)
