A very ordinary 2015 makes me eager to start the 2016 season. Most of the rookies are just place holders and i think the MN is way off which is why i left over 500K.

Salary cap left: $530,600.

Michael Hibberd, Elliot Yeo, Brodie Smith, Taylor Duryea, Matthew Scharenberg, Jacob Weitering
Daniel Capiron, Nic Newman

Scott Pendlebury, Joel Selwood, Ollie Wines, Gary Ablett jnr, Tom Liberatore, Dale Thomas, Connor Blakely, Corey Ellis
Jacob Hopper, Callum Mills, Luke Partington

Brodie Grundy, Matthew Leuenberger
Daniel Currie

Jack Gunston, Zach Merrett, Lance Franklin, Toby Greene, Jarrod Garlett, Nakia Cockatoo
Callum Ah Chee, Christian Petracca

I have never not started with Pendles and Jelwood, so i can't see that changing next year. I am hoping the banishment of the sub rule is going to help duryea break that 85-90+ barrier

This is a very good side with the money you have left over.
If these were the real prices where would you put the 500k?

i would probably do something like this:
DEF: J. Newnes, E. Yeo, B. Smith, T. Duryea, M. Scharenberg, J. Weitering (D. Capiron, N. Newman)
MID: S. Pendlebury, J. Selwood, T. Rockliff, O. Wines, G. Ablett jnr, C. Blakely, C. Ellis, J. Hopper (N. Freeman, C. Mills, L. Partington)
RUC: S. Jacobs, B. Grundy (D. Currie)
FWD: J. Gunston, Z. Merrett, L. Franklin, T. Greene, J. Garlett, N. Cockatoo (C. Ah Chee, C. Petracca)
CASH LEFT: $208,500

I would probably also upgrade Zerrett to Dusty if he gets DPP which would leave me with 120k, but i can't see GAZ being that cheap, so 200-300K left over seems about right

Trying something fresh since the official prices are out:

DEF: J. McVeigh, E. Yeo, M. Rosa, N. Malceski, B. Stretch, A. Francis (C. Byrne, M. Brown)
MID: S. Pendlebury, G. Ablett jnr, J. Selwood, T. Rockliff, O. Wines, T. Liberatore, C. Mills, J. Hopper (N. Freeman, B. Keays, B. Fiorini)
RUC: S. Martin, M. Leuenberger (M. King)
FWD: D. Martin, K. Tippett, Z. Merrett, D. Wells, J. Anderson, C. Ellis (N. Kommer, C. Petracca)
CASH LEFT: $24,100

No sub rule and Rosa will slot perfectly into the GCS side, a given for a 90+ average. A lot of cashcows in the forward line makes me leaning towards a structure like this but I will probably drop Wines to a rookie and upgrade Wells to Bennel/Delids

Honestly dont think rosa can average 90... more players with the ability to take pill off him at the suns than there were at west coast. They had a better spread.
Like yeo!
Would like to know what prompted you to pick tippett.
Even consider wines to Crouch/Jaeger and wells to Greene/Billings or someone like that or if you wanted to get bennell.. Anderson to B.Kennedy would be ideal!

Tippett seems to thrive in the ruck (sc wise), he should be able to push the 95-100+ barrier. I  see your point on Rosa I would never have the balls r1 to start him. Downgrading wells/anderson to a cheaper rook will mean I could upgrade Rosa to Smith which makes this team look stronger and more risky.

eg6914

I have dedicated some much needed time to redo my team. A risky structure but there are loads of fwd rookies compared to mid rookies at this stage.

TEAM NAME: SC Preseason
DEF: K. Simpson, E. Yeo, B. Smith, N. Malceski, A. Francis, M. Adams (M. Brown, R. Bonner)
MID: N. Fyfe, S. Pendlebury, G. Ablett jnr, J. Selwood, T. Rockliff, T. Liberatore, C. Mills, J. Hopper (B. Kennedy, N. Freeman, B. Keays)
RUC: T. Goldstein, S. Martin (S. Naismith)
FWD: B. Deledio, Z. Merrett, D. Wells, C. Ellis, S. Kerridge, C. Petracca (J. Pickett, N. Kommer)
CASH LEFT: $29,100
rookies are really just place holders atm

Money Shot

Looks like a very strong side. Forward line might be a bit weak! That's just my opinion though.

The forward line is very weak! I usually build rookies first and there were far more appealing fwd rooks, which is probably why i only have two premiums on that line.

Good looking side EG,   Malceski is a question mark and will depend on how GCS use him.
Fwds will need reviewing at a later date and this might drive some other changes.   Could downgrade Simpson to Rich if looking for money or Selwood to Crouch.

Great start.   Appreciate your thoughts on my team.

eg6914

Updated team since SC opened up:     Premium    Mid-Pricer
Backs:
Kolodjashnij, Bartel, Smith, Duryea, Harwood, Otten (Brown, Hartley)
Mids:
Pendlebury, Ablett, Gray, Rockliff, Liberatore, Crouch, Mills, Ellis (Gresham, Jansen, Cunningham)
Rucks:
Martin, Naitinui (King)
Forwards:
Martin, Gunston, Merrett, Simpkin, Langford, Kennedy (Kerridge, Petracca)

This team is pretty cookie-cutter in terms of its structure with a couple of PODs in KKolo, Gunston and Duryea. I usually select no more than 2 breakout selections and in this team I think Duryea and Merrett fills that catagory.  I have tried to go with more expensive rookies as placeholders (ie-Mills, Ellis, Langford) so i can make a more realistic team.

Any thoughts or feedback will be greatly appreciated :)

Peter

As good a team as I have seen EG - not far off mine. Only query is Smith, but good luck

fasttrack13

like it! but Duryea and smith are worries for me, smith being no.1 in line for tag and duryea being a hawthorn player is really an unknown! really depends if his role changes enough to one of sc relevance. You have a good base for it not to impact you though!
