Jelwood with Danger

I have this nagging feeling that opposition teams now believe they have finally found Joel's true weak spot and that is to batter him senseless without so much as laying a finger on him. In order to achieve this they are quite prepared to stand back and allow Joel, who has always suffered from severe kamikaze syndrome, to repeatedly dive into packs with absolutely no regard for his own
or anyone else's safety, then watch him be helped from the ground to go have the necessary stitches inserted followed by a sobriety test. NOW THE IMPORTANT BIT. Dangerfield, who is no mug, will quickly work out what is going on and realize that all he has to do is nonchalantly stand nearby, feast on the banquet of crumbs coming his way, and have no shame in making an absolute pig of himself.  In other words, I think I'll be having Danger over Joel this year.

Ricochet

Is there much difference between what you just said about Joel feeding the ball to Danger to Sloane feeding it to him this year?

Cue the little Mexican girl from El paso tacos

Ablett, Rocky and Libba are making that a little difficult  :P

See I'm not too sure about that. Ablett and Rocky yes, but everyone is talking Libba, Crouch, JOM etc and I just don't think I would start any of them

Libba is coming back into a team that has significantly improved since he was last there and even at 500k or so isn't exactly super cheap when we consider their improvement and many players who stepped up. As for Crouch and JOM, I just don't think I would.

I think I'd much rather start a 104avg priced Jelwood over these blokes

I agree with this, Rocky & Jelwood are a pretty high chance to make that 110 ave requirement imo even with the Beams factor still quite an unknown on Rocky's scores at 550k it's nearly impossible to look past these 2 next season, If Libba is 417k he is worth a look but anything over 460-470 ish and i wouldnt consider, 1 year out of the game should see him take some time to get back to his best and who wants a slow starter? as for Crouch huge risk for an injury prone guy who has literally played only a handful of games in like 3 years.

If Libba is in fact 417K then he is a must, but will he be that cheap? Started at 586K this year - seems like a massive discount

30%
Didn't play any games so he's going to get a decent discount

No doubt he'll get a nice discount, but 30% is pretty massive

I cant remember off the top of my head but can we think of any players who missed 2014 and returned this year, and what price they came in as? All I can think of is Rich who only played 3 games last year, but he didn't drop 30% did he?

Nah 30% is standard usually. Players get discounts up til about 8 games i think from memory.

Rich started at 348k last this year. At three games he may have gotten 20% or 15%, I'm not sure what discount he got

He technically should receive 30% off but they will adjust it as he is former premo and allowing him to be that cheap takes away any consideration when selecting, they have done it in the past to not allow premiums to become too cheap but none come to mind right now, I think he will be 450k-480k

Someone from one of the other SC websites has  a SC selector in an Excel spreadsheet for 2016 and has used the so called "magic number" and data to create prices for every player for next year.

FWIW he has Libba at 474,600

Fyfe, Ablett, Pendles, Heppell and Libba are my starting 5 mids for next year ATM.

I would prefer to see how Jelwood, Danger and the rest of the cats mids work together before selecting any of them. Come the middle of the year one or both could well be in my side.

Yeh agree, thinking around that 450k-ish mark

That would be last years MN. I don't think this 2016's can be calculated until after the drafts?? Could be wrong though

I would think so. Not the worst guide to start preparation though.

RaisyDaisy

Yeah I think 417 is too low, Personally I would have thought he is going to be in the 450-480k range, and even at that price it's hard to ignore

Back on topic, I don't think Jelwood and Danger will impact each other at all. With Kelly, Stokes and SJ gone Danger has plenty of points available to get without impacting Joel, and considering Danger is Danger with the likes of Sloane, Thompson etc scoring well too then I don't see it impacting Joel and Danger who will be the clear 1 and 2 at the Cattery

Can he start any slower than a 104ave?

HAVE to start him. 104 is his lowest ave since his 2nd year
