I just realised that a few of the sites m0nty lists in the blurb have NFL daily fantasy available. Has anyone used any of these sites and if so what are the scoring settings like? I have been keeping tabs on DraftKings and FanDuel scoring which is PPR.

Australia has Moneyball which is basically the same thing on a lower scale.

Yup. I am pretty big into my NFL fantasy and wanted to give it a shot. After a bit of research I found out that you couldn't do it which was a bit disappointing. I had an issue with a few of the ESPN games in the past so I expected it but I still would have liked to try it. Those games seem to be drawing a lot of causal players and they don't play much in terms of salary cap leagues over in the USA.

And thanks for the scoring settings. I had a quick look on Moneyball and couldn't find anything so that is handy. Some interesting scoring settings with 8 point TD's in one comp and only -1 for INT's in the other. I will look at them more in depth and might do a list of good options according to price if anyone is interested. I did a breakdown a couple weeks back and it's a bit of fun

Ok guys, here is a list of players I would look at for this week using prices on Moneyball

QB's

Blake Bortles - $9,100: He plays a horrible Ravens secondary this week that is 31st in points allowed per game to QB's. They also give up bigger scores at home then they do on the road this year. I was surprised how expensive QB's are in Moneyball and he is number 12 on the price list ($400 cheaper then Russell Wilson) with the potential to put up a top 3 week.

Ryan Tannehill - $7,500: The Philly D has been a bit bend don't break all season. They have had some crazy games where they have nullified QB's completely and then been carved up by Kirk Cousins. Where they have killed QB scores is the amount of turnovers they have forced. I think the advantage in something like Moneyball is INT's are only -1. I think Tannehill throws a couple of TD's and 250-300 yards. So based on a stat line of 2 TD's, 2 INT's and 300 yards he should score around 18 points. It isn't great, but it is boom for your buck considering he is 2k less then Eli Manning

Tyrod Taylor - $6,800: In average per game in Moneyball Taylor is the number 7 QB that has started multiple games. He is averaging about 5 points less per game then Brady and is also priced $2,700 less. He plays a tough Jets D off a short week, however, the way he gets yards on the ground results in him having quite a high floor. He would have to be my start of the week when you take all things into consideration.

RB's

Blount - $6,200: With Lewis out for the year Blount looks to be a good start against a soft Giants run D. The Giants best performance against opposition RB's came last week in a game where Tampa had to abandon the run quickly. Just for comparison, Branden Bolden is more expensive then Blount  :o

DeAngelo Williams - $6,000: Under priced much? He is listed as questionable which isn't a great omen and Big Ben is out, but that means they probably lean on the run game a bit more. At that price though you have to lock him and load him, especially against the Browns who allow the most yardage per game to RB's.

Karlos Williams - $5,300: IF Shady is out, you might have to consider him as he would be the number 1 back and has a nose for the endzone. However, the matchup is terrible against the Jets D that has only really been torn up by Ryan Matthews and a multitude of Raiders backs

James Starks - $5,500: Lacy has been poor all season and banged up which has seen Starks get a ton of carries and put them to good use. Now the thing with Starks is he is only really a good play if Lacy misses, although the Lions D has allowed multiple TD's on the ground in 4 games this year, 7 over the last 4 games and haven't coughed one up in just 2 games this year.

WR's

Emmanuel Sanders - $8,500: Sanders has been Mannings favourite target this year. The Chiefs also have the worst pass defense in the league allowing the most yardage to WR's of any team this year. He is my start of the week and comes at a good price.

Jarvis Landry - $7,800: So did anyone see what Cole Beasley did to Malcolm Jenkins the other night? As I said in the Tannehill post, the Eagles give up a lot of yardage to WR's to go at 4th most in the league. They make up for it with the turnovers, however in a 0.5 PPR and for a guy that gets a ton of receptions, Landry looks like an excellent start this week. He lines up in the slot and the Eagles corners generally don't follow WR's so he should see a lot of short underneath routes.

Allen Robinson - $7,700: Robinson is a top 10 WR in PPR this year. He also plays a terrible Ravens secondary. Considering his price he has to be a lock.

Jordan Matthews - $6,200: Matthews has struggled with drops this year which has seen his production dip. It came out before the bye that he had been playing with a torn ligament in his hand. He is coming off a monster week against the Cowgirls with more importantly no drops. His confidence is back and he plays a not so good Dolphins secondary, I expect the Eagles to exploit the defenders attempting to cover him and at his price it seems a solid pick

Rishard Matthews - $6,200: Look at Landry but with less slot and more Byron Maxwell. Maxwell has been the weakness in that secondary with all the other guys being excellent for the majority of the year.

Travis Benjamin - $5,900: This pick is based on the health of McCown, if McCown plays Benjamin has WR 1 upside against the Steelers who have given up a ton of points at the position. While his production has dropped off the last 3 weeks, with McCown in I expect him to bounce back, if it is Johnny Football at QB, not so much

Martavis Bryant - $6,700: He has managed to produce regardless of who the QB is for the Steelers finding the endzone in 3 of his 4 games since he returned from suspension. I prefer him to Brown this week and if the Browns secondary is Hadenless again he could be a decent value play

James Jones - $6,000: So Jones has not been as effective as he was earlier in the year, he has a good matchup this week against the Lions who have given up a lot of yardage to the position for the majority of the season. 

Decker - $7,000: So the Bills have given up a crap load of points to number WR's this year while generally holding the number 1 in check. This means the number 2 and slot guys have been destroying the Bills which bodes well for Decker who has been really consistent in all the games he has played.

TE's

Gronk - $9,100: The Giants are 30th in the position for points allowed per game. Gronk is the number 1 target in the Pats aerial attack. Put 1 and 1 together and you get a big week for the premier guy in the position. His price is quite steep which is the only thing to deter you from starting him

Barnidge - $7,100: Again this depends on the health of McCown, but the Steelers have been leaky at the position all year and Barnidge is the number 4 guy when byes are taken into account. At that price with that matchup he is a very good cheaper alternative to Gronk

Olsen - $7,500: Another top 4 guy, Olsen plays a Titans team that has given up some big scores at the position. I would however have him down the pecking order to Barnidge/Gronk in terms of a matchup.

Ben Watson - $6,000: Watson is actually top 10 in the position and is having a good statistical year. He obviously isn't Jimmy Graham but his numbers are expected to be better then Graham's this year. The Skins have been relatively good against TE's this year but he might be a cheaper option to consider. 

Jordan Reed - $5,800: Reed plays the 31st ranked defense in points allowed at the position. He has also been a matchup nightmare and Cousins favourite target. At that price he seems the best bang for your buck option by a mile.

Rudolph - $4,700: So Rudolph has been basically irrelevant outside a couple game this year. The Raiders have given up points in all but one game this year (Thanks Owen Daniels you F'er), I think he is good to score this week but that's about it.

Zach Ertz - $4,900: So looking at the Dolphins scores allowed to TE's in PPR this year it looks like this

It's an odd trend, but if it continues Ertz has a big week this week and is moderately priced.

Defenses

Denver - $6,500: The Broncos have been the best defense all year and play a Chiefs team without their best player and a QB that struggles to go downfield. They will blanket Maclin and Smith can tend to either hold onto the ball too long or throw up the occasional wobbler.

Philly - $5,400: The second best D/ST in FF. Philly have a great front 7 and have had a knack for TO's this year. They play a QB that has a tendency to throw multiple INT's and a shaky O'line against some guys that love to get to the QB. Add in their elite ST unit and I think they have another great week

Panthers - $5,200: The Panthers D is very, very good. They play the Titans this week who are 32nd for points at the position so the matchup is about as good as it can get. A top 5 unit with a good matchup puts them in contention for start of the week territory

Rams - $5,700: The Rams are another top 5 fantasy unit playing a Bears team with a back up RB and a QB that like to throw picks. Another excellent matchup for another top unit.

Cards - $5,100: The Seahawks O-line has been sack city this year. The Cards have an excellent D so it should result in a decent score for a strong unit this year.

Bengals - $4,500: The cheapest unit on the list, they play a Texans team which has been awful this year. Hopkins could have a big game but the Bengals coverage teams have been alright, it's their run D which has been gashed. Alfred Blue and Polk aren't good so it seems like a decent matchup for the Bengals D to put up points.


K's

Gostowski - $6,300: So he is the most expensive by a mile but he is a kicker that puts up double digit points every week.

Blair Walsh - $5,400: Walsh is on a hot streak and plays a team that gives up quite a few points to kickers in the Raiders

Justin Tucker - $5,300: Another kicker with a great matchup, Tucker should see double digit points in this matchup.

Connor Barth - $5,400: Connor Barth has put up double digit points in every game he has played this year and has a matchup against Dallas who should concede plenty of points.

Only in a minority of US states. They are still taking in 3-4 million entries per week and still offering $1M first prize for their major competitions.
