Hey FT appreciate the comments on my team. regarding your team I like it a lot but I'm not sure it Duggan is the best option and think Wells or Simpkin has more of a chance of playing consistently and scoring well.

Hawker_08

Nice Team FT! Love the Mids. Only suggestion would be Rampe > Bartel but I know you have your reasons for him. Good Luck mate.

Colley Dogs

This looks like a rock solid team, FT.

I'm completely on the same page as you with your midfield set-up. We have different premiums, but I feel strongly about Libba and Crouch at M6 & M7 respectively, which is a lot deeper than I normally go.

There is only one thing issue for me... I think you're too light at D4 with Mckenzie, and you've over invested in the Rucks. I appreciate the set-and-forget approach, but 1 million and no more for the Rucks imo, or you compromise other areas. I'd drop Goldy down to Jacobs/NicNat etc. , or downgrade Martin to Grundy (less preferable). I might even think about (and I know it's sacrilege) to drop Pendles down to Sidebottom/Shiel and then use the cash to improve that D4 position to a Malceski/Smith type.

Whatever you do, looks to me like a team that will do well this season.

Good luck!

Cheers MS! I'm not taking wells, if averages 85+ then I'll cop it but I don't want a guy who's played the little amount that wells has in recent years unless it's Gaz ;)

Thanks Hawker! As my team is like a lot of teams (hard not to be) I feel I need the Rampe over bartel just to add a bit of a difference, at worse he will average the same as well I feel!

I guess the way I have to look at it is the way I think they'll score...

Goldy (120) + Pendles (120) + Mackenzie (75)
V
NN (105) + Gray (115) + Smith (90)

I'm picking the top ruck, a top 5 mid vs a guy who'll make 150k as well as two guys who can get captain scores on a weekly basis
Or
Top 5 Ruck, Top 10 mid and a top 10-15 Backman and maybe a few captain scores here and there

I can see the appeal though the extra keepers and burning less trades, but you can do the same by having more solid premos

Hawker_08

Same thinking here FT. Totally agree. Would rather dahl, Goldy, Simmo and Simpkin/Wells/Anderson than Zerrett, Lobbe, Ward and Mal. 3 out and out prems and 1 rookie/mid pricer than 3 possible keepers but probably upgrades and one premo.

Exactly!
For me I see:
10 100% keepers
3 more than likely
2 50/50

I'm seeing a lot of teams trying to cram keepers with less than 8 of those sure thing players.
It barely pays off and I've learnt my lesson from doing so the last 2 years!

Nice team and structure to sit with till we know which rookies are playing. Gutsy pick with Rampe but with him being given mid time the may pay off handsomely.

When finalising rookies may be handy to get a couple with DPP for extra flexibility. With the introduction of trade centtre a couple of years back found it advanatgeous with trading in maximising the trades. eg if a forward rookie completely fattened and a mid that is at bargain price but mid rookies are still fattening you can use the DPP to gain the mid.

Cheers Ringo! its him or Macmillan ATM... Obviously cash is why!

So you think get a mid/fed into the mid? I like the thinking!
So if there's 4 gun rookie mid only players would you say drop a midfielder to get a mid/fwd rookie say B.Kennedy in there and use the cash to get another premo or something in the fwd line even if it changes structure?

Also looking to fill my public league with some decent supercoachers instead of the top ups they give you...!

If mod's could just leave this here instead of moving it to leagues it'd be appreciated  ;D

Not quite what I am saying say you have Kerridge as the m/f dpp and say Ahern has reached his ceiling.  Looking at your team you decide that now is the time to bring in a prem mid keeper you can downgrade somewhere for cash if you need it  and then trade Ahern to a mid via Kerridge.
So basically what I am saying is look DPP rookies if it suits your structure as well as other rookies.

plumdog millionaire

Kind of gives you a greater pool of rookies to choose from when you need to downgrade - instead of choosing a FWD only rook you can look at FWD and MID players without worrying about DPP

I full understand that...
But what I'm saying is say all 4 of my mid rookies are named on field RD1 with good job security...
Gresham, Freeman, Cuningham and Keays (assume it)
Would you recommend culling say Wines or Sloane to bring in ahern (or other mid/fwd with good JS) so I have that mid/fwd in the midfield? Or stick with the structure I like I know that you said stick to my structure but would you personally do it?

With the Essendon situation there will be plenty of alternative rookies that can come in so you can have a DPP mid/fwd link.

Better to start with the link (not essential) than to acquire it through trading.

Ringo

If all start for you go with gut but at this stage just monitor the NAB cup to ensure that you do not miss an opportunity. Would not change structure though by downgrading Wines.

fasttrack13

Hectic last few weeks has disallowed me from posting and also looking at any aspect of my team. Few changes have been made! Appreciate comments

I'dgo wines > crouch then mccarthy > wells and howe > lonergan/sheridan/seedsman

Then you're looking a bit safer.

mccarthy won't put anything above 60 on the scoreboard. he started well this weekend then fell off the face of the earth.
