Moved teams around with NAB

im worried about crouch and his injuries so have gone unique and dropped him. Have taken a punt on zac williams (who has a chance of being a keeper)

gone for 2 mid pricers in Williams and Bird and the rest of the team is rookies. Actually liking the mid rookies now. Kennedy Hopper named in strong teams, parish named. Mills was great. Simpkin was named so another option. Acres looked great and could find the cash for him.

Simpson Bartel Birchall Williams Brown Broad (Hartely , Mcdonal-Tippa)
Pendles Ablett JPK Rocky Libba Mills Parish Hopper (Kennedy, Gresham, Polkinghorne)
Goldy NN (King)
Martin Hoff Barlow Bird Wells Kerridge (Kommer Grimley)

originally had grimley as r3 but if he plays i might want loophole. I can always swithc him with king if i know a ruck is down. Feel pretty solid with besides mids not many rookies on field.

With both Kennedy and Gresham on the bench in the midfield, you could afford to drop one of Parish/Mills/Hopper or 2 to rookie priced players?
This would allow you to turn Bird or Williams into certain keepers?

Bird is 340k Williams is 370k

Parish Mills Hopper are about 200k so i would need to get a 100k rookie and even then I have a 440k forward or a 470k defender to pick from best case. 440k gets nobody up front.

who is there at 470k better then Williams. I see no certain keepers. Williams did go 88 unsubbed.

Have you considered Docherty? if you can get an extra 3k from somewhere..

dont see him much more as a keeper then williams.

williams it all depends on role.

I would go williams down to mackenize then use the cash to bring in crouch if i was going to drop williams. Or use that cash to go JPK to Fyfe.

Ahh acres potentially on The radar (shush)

So i just lost my faith in the 200k guys after last night with hopper kennedy. just showed me dont trust rookies and go guys with years in the system.

with that I went Williams to Collins pocketed 250k and used that to go Hopper to Crouch (110k) Parish to Acres (50k) Kennedy to Macaffer (20k) and JPK to Fyfe (70k)

too look like this

Simpson Bartel Birchall Collins Brown Broad (Hartely , Mcdonal-Tippa)
Pendles Ablett Fyfe Rocky Libba Crouch Acres Mills  (Macaffer, Gresham, Polkinghorne)
Goldy NN (King)
Martin Hoff Barlow Bird Wells Kerridge (Kommer Grimley)

Macaffer my only expensive beanch player and he isnt a rookie. Very few rookies in my team now.

In saying that your boy williams did score 74 from 74% TOG, not too bad. I'd only go macaffer if you're looking for JS otherwise I feel a cheaper priced rookie will average the same if not more than him.  However, he could be released from his tagging role and be let loose and go near his 80 back in 2010.

definatley reasonably happy with what i saw. Simpson to him and pocketing 130k is certainly possible. I could turn Simpson Hartley into say Williams mackenzie or

Simpson Bird into Williams Buddy

Is Williams gonna be best 22 this season?

he isnt locked so thats why he isnt in my team. I got to see his nab and round 1 squad and see who missed out in a similar role and how they went.

aarontays

Nice looking team Holz but i'd keep it how it is for now until after NAB.
Like the Williams pick and is a great POD

also being a Pies fan i can tell you if he's fit he's in the best 22 no doubt!

It's not Marley, it's Zac from the Giants

Holz ... not going with your old GnR's strategy?

Is Bird + Crouch + Acres/Mills > JKP + 2 Rooks by enough to warrant the risks ?

Also from a non-footballing PoV and looking at Simpson purely as a number ... I don't think he's worth starting.

If you were told at the beginning of 2015 the he was not going to be top6-D for average and not going to be top6-D for overall ... would you have picked him?

I think this year is no different. He's not going to be like the Hoff at the other end who "should" be top6 overall at least. There is no upside to Carlton's draw.

I would rather pick him up mid-season after a blip and a price drop to bank an overs average that gets him back to 90-95.  As opposed to missing a T.McD early season type scorer who comes in to give you unders ;(

Back Z.Will ... I am :P

And if he starts well then drops off in second half of the year? Better to start him and bank the 90-95 avg

I've got him in at this stage just on the fact he averaged 88 last season but concerned with his job security still.

Obviously ... but that's now what i said at all.

If he's cruising at around 90ppg around the bye and pulls a couple stinkers ... which is not unusual ... then pick him up.  If you're confident he'll finish the year at 90-95 ... then his remaining scores will above average.

If defenders are rubbish this year then he's a safe upgrade. If there are defenders who have broken out in a big way ... maybe 92 isn't good enough for Top6 again.
