Walking through the the inner suburbs this morning at it was everywhere,, how come you think people aren't making a big deal out of it?

Just a money spinner, sad that Australia seems to have taken it up.

They do a Halloween disco at my kids school every year and since it's the only disco they have for the year they go to that but I never take them out Trick or Treating because I think it's a load of crap.

Exactly the same in NZ. An American thing that has become a part of NZ culture... Kids roaming the streets, largely unsupervised door knocking for sweets. Had kids swearing their heads off last night outside ours as they were roaming in packs having water bomb fights with one another. Going back a few years our house was egged. It's been hard to explain my teenage son that he's not taking part or scabbing for lollies off strangers with his mates because it's not safe and not a NZ celebration. Would rather give him $20 and let him by some food from the supermarket.

The trend in my area is to put a little something out the front (eg. Balloon), and that says to Trick or Treaters that this is a house that is participating, so people who would rather eat children than give children something to eat are neglected.

Hallowe'en is big & currently in Austin, Texas & seeing. Promotion in our hotel & all the staff are full on participating & costume dress up. Currently 22:30 so not long to go & all over.

Side note Adelaide boy Richie Crampton done real good in Top Fuel on Friday & qualified 5th for Sunday.
