Buddy and Gaz left top 4 clubs that had already won a flag the year before (Geelong 2 years before) so that's completely different.
Adelaide also probably have the hardest fixture in the league. They can still make the 8 but people's reasoning behind them slipping out isn't based off a star leaving an already premiers top 4 team like you're making out.

I tipped Adelaide to drop out of the 8 because there are 8 or 9 teams better than them tbh, not because of the loss of Dangerfield.

Obviously a West Coast / Pies grand final. 8)

Just did my ladder predictor, and think it's shaping up to be a very interesting top 8.

1. Geelong 20-2
2. Sydney 20-2
3. Adelaide 17-5
4. West Coast 16-6
5. Western Bulldogs 16-6
6. GWS 16-6
7. Hawthorn 16-6
8. North Melbourne 15-7
9. Port Adelaide 9-13
10. Gold Coast 9-13
11. Collingwood 8-14
12. St Kilda 8-14
13. Richmond 7-15
14. Fremantle 6-16
15. Melbourne 6-16
16. Brisbane 4-18
17. Carlton 4-18
18. Essendon 1-21

I can't remember ever having a bigger drop-off from 8th to 9th, and such small of a difference between 1st and 8th. This is the most open season in a long time.. Imagine that first week of finals, literally every game would almost be a 50/50, with every team if healthy having a shot to go all the way.

I did think last week that the Top 8 teams were already set. Can't see any of the bottom 10 making a serious run at it at this stage

Big mover is St Kilda, they have some very winnable games! They play Essendon twice, Carlton twice, and get Melbourne again at Etihad. What a great season it would be for them to finish in 9th spot!

Just thought I'd point out how silly most of you look now after judging teams based on one player 8)

fanTCfool

Did anyone put the Giants in the Top 8 at the beginning of the year?  :'(

I had them 8th! But the rest of my ladder is terrible. Had Crows, Swans and Bulldogs missing the 8 (Only just, but still out of the 8) and they are making me look silly now (Port, Freo and Tigers in their place).

Picking the failure of the year wont be easy either! Out of Richmond, Fremantle, Port, Collingwood (going ok now), Gold Coast, probably North Melbourne.

Just shows not only how good those sides inside the 8 are but how good the comp has been with more competitive and entertaining matches (Saints v Dees proves it) This year more than any I can remember yet ...........

Still no Coached sacked which could be a record this late in a season?

Ricochet

Oh we're clearly failure of the season
