so is Johnson retiring after this test or after the series? he's one match away from playing in the first ever d/n test! surely he doesn't retire after this match

He is retiring from international and first class cricket after today.

James Pattinson if right to go is my pick to replace him in the squad.

I also expect Siddle to come in for Hazlewood for Adelaide. Selectors wanted to rest Hazlewood here but wanted to try wrap the series up before giving him a spell

Bows out after this test most likely. He's played the Gabba and WACA tests, the two states he's called home.

Definitely hasn't been at his devastating best for a little while now, but nevertheless, it's sad to see him go.

100% after this test. Obviously carrying an injury of some description, hasn't looked likely this test

Looks as though he's lost a yard of pace tbh, wouldn't be surprised if its injury/fatigue related.

Last test at the WACA, great timing.

If I had to go to Adelaide next week I'd probably retire too

First post in this thread btw, have been too lazy up to this point.

Went yesterday and it was pretty fun, literally the world's flattest track though - only good ball all day was when Starc bowled some tail-ender. Boult taking Hazlewood downtown with 6-4-4 on consecutive balls was hilarious tho. Didn't even get sunburned too :')

edit: Also good to see that elephants has gotten back into cricket after, for some reason, not posting at all in the last ashes thread. Interdasting.

Hilarious you point that out when you've done the same in previous Ashes threads (and EPL threads when Man u turned to shower).

Plus I enjoy cricket, but I don't fancy getting up in the middle of the night to follow it - plus it interferes with footy season.

But whatever haha, I'll cop it. Jukes taking pot-shots, some things never change smh smh smh

Get Johnno out there! I could score 50 on this deck, surely he could!

BratPack

So with Johnno retiring after today. Our most experienced bowler will be Nathan Lyon.....

Nevill 6 off 43. Are we not trying to win?

Hazlewood and Pattinson should play the Adelaide test. Imo, they are both better bowlers than Siddle

Nah looks like we're just gonna take the draw and move onto Adelaide.

So jealous, mate put $100 on the draw at $8 on the first day!
