I love cricket in Australia, and am glad we got off to a great start, but really would like to see a better battle between bat and ball.. The matches here always just turn into run-fests.

Well to be fair the kiwis couldnt get Finch out how do they expect to get our decent batsmen out.

We will bowl them out for under 300.

To be fair to them look at who bowled during that innings ;)

Bracewell, Neesham and Craig were all there sending down mediocrity.

Kiwis bowled well for 8 overs then it was average for the most of the day after that.  :-\

That's true but 2-400 in a day should not happen. Feels like we haven't had a good contest in Aus for years.

I'm not going to disagree with you on those bowlers :P But they bowled McCullum a bit, Boult and Southee hardly bowled. Still, no excuse for today.

When was the last good contest anywhere? Pakistan vs England had one close match but that was 'boring' for 4 days. Sri Lanka vs West Indies would have lower quality than the NSW vs Victoria shield match starting tomorrow. India are playing South Africa in a test now, Saffers wrecking them, in India.

And this is a valid point. All I'm saying is that I just want to see some good, competitive cricket, surely that isn't too much to ask :-X

I say this every series both online and irl and everybody bashes me for it and calls me un-Australian or shower talks me for not taking a side, but when most matches are one-sided, more often than not favouring the home side, I really don't think it's unreasonable.

I agree, I still want the Aussies to win, of course, but would rather see us make the winning runs whilst nine down or something truly exciting.

Maybe the T20s have got to me.

What's the plan now lads? Reckon we declare at 550ish? Or bat on to 600-650 then try roll NZ before the end of day 3?
