Big Mac

Hopefully Carlton don't have as many Thursday/Friday night games this year

Melb GWS should be good  :)

Nige

The Tiges/Blues game is usally closer than it should be, but I hope and assume we'll be too good.

Both the Saturday night games have the poential to be the best of the round imo.

Dogs vs Freo might surprise on the Sunday and you'd expect the Monday game to be a ripper as well.

Football Factory

Yarran kicks 5 goals to get the Tiges over the line  ;D   :-X

frenzy

I think 2016 is the last year of the contract but they were talking about cutting it short after this year.

Gigantor

Mad rush to finalise players from Thursday nights teams as usual :)

I can't imagine Hawks and Cats will have many rookies playing round one so hopefully the Monday game does screw things up too much

Holz

bit strange having the first game of AFL a Saturday morning.

pretty exciting given its two young teams with loads of talent.

note: im not counting Tigers Carlton as an AFL game. had enough of that spud matchup

80,000 + crowd and massive TV ratings is why

Firstly, I like the Richmond v Carlton fixture, footy is footy and traditional rivalry is just that! Epic Viewing but really, don't expect a blockbuster, who cares though really? Just make Dusty VC :P

Look out Kangas! Adelaide will be desperate to repeat 2015 on you even if it is on your turf! You are the ones with the pressure on ;)

It's been revealed that Essendon and Geelong will take part in a new "blockbuster" game called the "Country Game".
The two teams will meet in round four where the two clubs will recognise the work of those in regional areas.
The MCG will turn from city to country with farmers markets, live music, field shows and much much more.
In addition to the new agreement, Essendon and Geelong will play in a NAB Challenge match each year in a regional area, with the 2016 version in Shepparton.

CALLLED IT. I'm going to go see Dangerzone in person!

Samsturmfels

Just wondering, which Saturday night game will on free to air?

No point having the argument with Nrich. He's got no clue that Cairns are so undeserving and unlikely to get a game...
Why does Drummoyne, Shepparton and Morell deserve games more than Cairns?

Please come up with a valid point rather than insulting me.

Because GV league is one of the best leagues in the Victorian state, we haven't had a game here in a while, and it's much easier to move 100 odd people 2 and a half hours north of Melbourne than fly them for 3 hours to Cairns.

Looks like the GV was more deserving!  :P

Nrich is gonna be PISSED!
