If anything the news that twelve of the key Bombers players missing the whole year is a bad thing for Leuenberger.

How many effective hitouts are you expecting him to have when tapping to the most inexperienced midfield in the history of the AFL?

Then you have to factor in his achilles issues.

He is anything but a lock.

Apart from the fact he wins the ball and pressures the opposition midfielders. He is really, really athletic for a ruck. His points never came from just hit outs. Injury is the only worry, particularly if it's an Achilles again

Took him out of my team today for Craig Bird. At least Bird in that spot should get a decent amount of the ball.

I have put a line through Leuenberger for now.

Many are talking up the combo of Lobbe with either Goldy or Stef Martin, and I have heard very little of big Leuey.

At around 80K cheaper than Lobbe, and seemingly a certainty to ruck all day (health permitting) now that he is a bomber, has he just been blacklisted after his injuries in previous years, or do you think he has a low ceiling ?
Leuey has fwd/ruck dpp, so basically everyone who is starting him has him in their forward line

ah sorry I missed this thread completely. I didn't realize he was already battling some niggles, so I think I may pass.

That's it. Im off this guy - made of paper and I just can't trust he will get through the season

No sign of Leunberger again today at Ess ... Achilles soreness lingering, told still 2 weeks away from rejoining full training ..

Yes RD I cant see why people are still considering him if he plays round 1 and 2 and tons up just burn a trade and get him then but his injury riddled career speaks for itself

That's only really possible if you have another guy his price In your forward line. Unfortunately he's an awkward price so will be nearly impossible to get without downgrading a premium.

Seriously considering giving him the flick all together though and not looking back

If you are considering players around the 300K - 400K in FWD 4or5 like me Q and they don't look good after a couple of rounds and Leuy plays and comes out and kills it you never know but yes he is only a slim chance even if that happens

Looking at Leuey replacements without butchering my structure, I think Reece Conca is the best bet at 284k. Should be good for 80 a match provided he gets gametime, big if but has had his first preseason in many years. Hardwick rushed him in for the finals so he's onside with the coach, definitely worth a look over the preseason.

I'm thinking about Conca as well. Seems a bit of a POD and should score reasonably well. I suspect that Leuy will be wrapped in cotton wool if problems persist and they will just play Jamar and McKernan, then play Leuy next year when Essendon have a full strength team again.

quinny88

Have been tempted by Conca myself but the only thing that puts me off is that I have no idea what his role will be. He gets thrown around a bit at the best of times and all the footy he has missed lately has pushed him down the order for midfield time

RaisyDaisy

Restructure your team. Wouldn't bother with either Luey or Conca
