Was hoping for about 7 games out of him then move him onto a solid fwd/mid option. Like RD said he's an awkward price and it really messes with my structure also if I can't start him.

Yeah not quite sure how many games I (we) would need to get the most cash possible before upgrading. He's a vital cog in my team aswell at the moment like you say structure wise. Don't think the Bombers or Sydney would have been interested if there was a large risk with his Achilles. He is risky but sometimes you just have to take a punt  .. ill see how he's travelling closer to round 1 before I rule him out.

Will assess closer to Round 1 as well. Medical assesment was done by Bombers before trade so you would think they would have been aware of the issue but still took him.  At hius best still a top Tap ruck and just hoping for a few games to enable straight swap to another R/F.

At Essendon Leuey will be the number 1 ruck. No Stefan Martin to see him bumped to FF for long durations.
Yesterday's article is nothing new to worry about...I see it as a positive that he's on track at the moment for R1, albeit on a reduced program at the moment.
No doubt he has had trouble with his achilles and knees in the past. Coupled with the Martin factor it's no wonder his SC averages have failed to be around the 100 mark, barring two years (2011 and 2013) when he was injury free and the main ruck.
At $310k if he is named R1 he is locked in my team. I see him as a solid 80-110 scorer who is priced at 57. If he gets injured I'll use a corrective trade on him. Riskier not starting him if he plays IMO.

I reckon 60-40 or 70-30 in Lueys favour, in terms of ruck vs fwd time against Belly

If that is the case RD then he may be ok at F4 to have some ruck coverage but will also be looking at players like Conca and Wells with similar injury problems but a bit cheaper , having Luey at R2 is to big a risk for me , set and forget this year.

Wow they have been banned had not heard that well that changes a lot of things who is there backup ruckman ?

Largely agree but I think Leuey is one of the players that I'd definitely still take, but I wouldn't quite say he's a lock until the fallout settles. If the dons recruit top up players that are half decent he could still score well even if the team gets punked as a whole.

Yes need to let the dust settle and it looks like McKernan will be his partner now and things could pan out differently will no bellchambers
