At this stage I can easily see myself not starting Fyfe, There's going to be way too much value in the mids which will be hard to pass on. Fyfe's price tag will be huge, as will his starting BE, so I'll take the risk that he'll go down rather than up and make him my first upgrade target (as many have said before about GAJ, I know!).

Ablett
Rocky
Libba
Crouch
Prestia
JOM
Pendles

There's 7 mids which will all be value priced with good scoring ability. At this stage I think I would take Ablett, Rocky, Prestia, Crouch and Libba. Depending on how trade period goes and how other lines stack up I may replace Libba with Pendles or even try to squeeze Pendles in on top, but it will depend on rookies across other lines - gotta make money somewhere! In looking at that it's hard to see how dropping someone like Prestia or Crouch  for Fyfe will be good use of an extra 250+ thousand...

Fremantle, as a whole, seem to be in a state of flux - call it rebuilding if you like - and I agree with Skiwi that there may be
wisdom in not starting Fyfe unless, of course, he does remain in his customary midfield role.  I'm prepared to not have him in my side until I've seen what's really going on over there.  Now that Joel is starting to slow down a wee bit, due to the pounding his head and body have taken over the years, Danger will be the new pinup boy at Geelong and will be out to prove his worth.

i think sloan is the big question! he will attract more attention now that danger has left! anyone know how he performs with a tag? his price will be hard to resist!

Jelwood with danger there as well!

Fyfe and Goldy continue to be locked in my team, 3 years strong  :)

Good to see the committment and totally rational decision.    However on a bang for buck basis I find Goldy to be too high given the likelihood of not backing up performance.    Will be upgrade target for me.

Fyfe is interesting and as stated below hard to see how 250K difference on a Crouch can be justified.  Another upgrade target.

Ablett, Rocky, Libba will all increase in price and cost you more if you leave them out.   Pendles just keeps getting the job done.  Hard to leave him out.

If Fyfe plays more up forward I am inclined to think he will look like a 40 goal player and score well.    Not sure it would be at 130+  more likely 115-125

Not when ablett, rocky, pendles, selwood, dangerfield will all average more than him. Get him later for cheaper. will save you 100k.

No thanks, upgrade target for me

Have not even considered him once, $670k is way too much

I will have Gaz and Rocky but that is a bold statement that the other 3 will avg. more than Fyfe do you know something we don't ? I expect Fyfe injury free to continue to improve along with his scores , he is a SC beast  ;)

Don't think it's way too much for a guy that's average dropped considerably after being injured in the back part of the year.
Could easily go 130 avg but my concern is him playing more forward this year  so would like to see what happens there and how it affects his scores first

Ahh the Ross Lyon discount.  With you on this one wato.
Given lack of forward options for Freo has to be a very good chance of increased time forward.   Believe this will translate into a 10-15 point reduction in average.    Would rather pick up up bargain mid premo's and assess situation later.    w

Yep, more time forward for Fyfe to give them the KPF they currently miss (don't have any ready made or developed) and couldn't get in the trade period (McCarthy), and he really is their only option (he is a monster above his head and one on one), meaning what he loses with his ability to win CP and turn games on their head (all the hard stuff he does), must be translated with him kicking a monster haul of goals a game, coupled with 20+ possessions, and I cannot see it happening (yes he is a freak) but I only see a 115-120 average ahead for him

Think with him going forward, it gives Barlow his old role, and allows Bennell to float across half forward

I think Freo want to play Fyfe on ball as much as possible, but with Pav another year older, no KPF signing and Sandi ageing as well, this is their time to strike, and Fyfe is the best fit to compliment their forward line (it will have height, depth and will be dangerous) but won't gift him points like many think it will

Allows his body to rest as well (as stupid as that sounds) as he was battered this year and although Freo supporters may disagree, this is what I see his role being.. will obviously play on ball, but potentially 50/50 or 40/60, not like the 80/20 this year imo
