Paul Conners says -  re Dangerfield

" He'll be playing for the Cats next year "  ::)

and follows up with

" Adelaide should settle for a FA compo pick 14 rather than trying to fight for a better deal from the Cats "  ???

Maybe ASADA should swab him instead of the players :-\

Other important quotes, I really want to call this guy a flog but I don't know him so that's harsh...

"Hawthorn got pick 20 (in compensation) for Buddy (Lance Franklin) and they went on and won two flags (after he left for the Swans at the end of 2013)," Connors said.
- Hawthorn in a completely different category, even back then. To even mention that and relate it to this is ridiculous.

"Patty Dangerfield has given eight years of wonderful service and I think we should respect that he's coming home and it's not for money... "Everyone's got the ability to do what's best for themselves and that's (a decision) for the Adelaide footy club and they think a trade might be best."

I'm pretty sure the club is also allowed to do "whats best for themselves". They aren't blocking the decision and stopping him from doing what he wants. They are facilitating the move and getting the best out of it.

Those 2 quotes just scream flog to me. Did he even think about what he was saying before the interview? Seems like pre-planned comments to me...

Interesting isn't it. Some think Danger is fair go for #14... And Carlisle is worth #5... Perspective is a funny thing.

+1 couldn't of said it any better.

The Crows did the right thing imo. Initially against their stance, but they held out and now the Cats are willing to broker a better return on the Crow's investment (i.e. Dangerfield) than the compo being offered.

The fact it worked and both teams were happy to comply shows that the Crows did the best thing possible in the circumstances. Great work by Fagan.

Also, I would be pretty disappointed if the Cats got to rebuild their list through free agency (i.e. without losing anything significant). It would just be unfair to the rest of the comp. (being a Power supporter I know how it feels) who have expended time and effort (plus years of suffering) to get their teams to where they are. Whilst the Cats (enjoying over a decade of prosperity) would only miss one finals series in which they came 10th (two if you count 2006).

Good on the Crows. West Coast unfortunately decided not to match the Scott Selwood offer so now it looks like the Cats may get Danger, Scooter, & Hendo...

Yeh i think we've done what we needed to do, Danger isn't just your average free agent he's arguably one of the best players in the comp. Hawks were burnt loosing Buddy glad we're not allowing the same to happen to us although you never really get what you deserve for a player like Danger,  a little more is better than a little less. Not sure how hard we were prepared to play it out but i'm glad for everyone's sake that it's getting sorted amicably.
