Would love to start hearing what new players you guys want in the red and black! Pick 4 is a hugely exciting pick for the club, and I expect them to land the best midfielder in the draft, Darcy Parish. If he goes at 3, Aaron Francis would at the very least solve our backline problem at 192cm (bye-bye Gwilt and Steiny!), if not develop into a more powerful Bont midfielder. Personally, I see him as the Stringer of defense... the "anti-Package!"

Carlisle could give us pick 5 (Saints) or 11 (Dogs), and there will be some great potential players availabe there. We could sure use another goal kicking option down forward, maybe Curnow will be the man.

At 23, I'd personally love to see us land another Mi...(tchell) Hibberd!!  :P Pick 25 for Melksham would also be around the mark.

As much criticism as Dodoro gets, not only have we been heavily restricted through the expansion period and supplements saga, I think guys like Giles, Gwilt and Cooney were necessary insurance players should players have been slapped with bans. Fortunately that wasnt the case, unfortunately it meant we missed an extra kid or 2. But that's what makes this draft so exciting!

Who would you like to see Don the Red & Black?

I think if we want to get pick 5 we might have to give our #23 and Carlisle. Hopefully the interest from other teams gets us a good deal.

If we do get pick 4&5, I'd ideally want Parish and Curnow

Interested in Parish, Weideman, Francis and Curnow. Hopefully we get the 4 and 5 so we've got our choice at two of them, because they won't be there by 11. In fact, by 11 there's not going to be much left on the table at all...

Balic too.

Surely you're kidding? The top 20 of this years draft is gold.

Ryan Clarke, Riley Bonner, Darcy Tucker, Ryan Burton all must be terrible in your eyes?

Assuming all of them are still around at pick 11 or later. Plenty of academy selections inside the top 15 this year.

I was excluding ALL of the academy picks haha. All those players there SHOULD be still available by pick 11, and should all be pretty high on the Bombers list.

i think the consensus is 6-8 are the bee's knees. sure the next 20 will be good, but they're not at the same level.

Maybe, I'm not that optimistic though. If you take away all the academy picks, those guys start to fall down into the 10-15 range and there's no guarantee the one you want would be headed your way. Key forwards for example; easy chance all the key forward prospects including Burton (port might draft him) could be gone before a hypothetical pick 11. I reckon we should chase a mid and a key forward out of this years draft so if we take Parish at 4 then we're stuffed if there's no key forwards left. Compared to last year, it's much tighter. Pick 11 in 2014 could get you almost any type of player you wanted without giving much potential away.

Honestly, it's not so much about not getting a talented player as it is about getting the player. Maybe I'm greedy, idk

Are you including or excluding, Mills, Hopper and Kennedy?

H1bb3i2d

There should be some quality at 11. I wouldn't really want to use a hypothetical pick 5 on Curnow or Weideman, think they're late first rounders in a regular draft and a bit overrated because they're only the best of an average key forward group.

Excluding academy

So: Carlisle and a 3rd rounder for pick 5 (Saints)

Melksham for pick 25 (Dees)

Pick 23 + 25 for pick 8 (GWS - more academy points)

What an outcome that would be. (Let me dream!)

Carlisle and 23 for pick 5, that might not even work. Unless they want to give their round 1 pick next year and gamble on them finishing higher. IMO they'll need to do a bit to offer a higher price than blues

Dodoro will see him walk to the PSD before accepting anything without a top 10 pick involved.
