Nah that only applies to people that leave Adelaide

QuoteJack Redden says he wants to find a new home to arrest his “average’’ form over the past two seasons.

Redden said fronting Senior Coach Justin Leppitsch to ask for a trade from the Club was difficult but necessary, as he was keen to put mounting speculation over his future to rest in a respectful manner.

“It was one of the toughest things I’ve had to do,’’ he told The Courier-Mail.

“I’ve got so many great friends at Brisbane and have built up a lot of great relationships over the years.

“I respect the footy club so much. That’s why this is so hard.

“I just feel like my football has gone stale over the past two years and I need a fresh start.

“I feel like a fresh environment will help me get back to playing to my potential.’’

I still don't understand why he wants to come West haha.

Only reason is he might be mates with Yeo but Rocky is his bestie so surely that outweighs that?

number 1 and 2 on the ladder seems like a pretty good reason. WA and Brisbane are pretty similar as well.

Redden was interviewed today and said he feels he needs a change of clubs as he is of the opinion his football has stagnated over the last 2 years.

So looks like he will be going and up to Lions to get the best possible deal.

elephants

I agree he's stagnated, might be down to coaching methods or injury.

Either way, please please please come to the Eagles :P

Ringo

Arrival of Beams and Robinson may not have helped either.  He has had a few injuries as well.

David King just called him a fringe midfielder, bit stiff?!

Here is an extract from his own presser.  Has had a groin injury for most of this season as well so that explains some things.

David King you have to be joking - My Redrock combo in DT was one of the reasons i ended 8th overall last year. Redden can be as effective as Rocky.  Groin injury may explain why his tackle numbers are down this year as he usually heads the Lions count.

A first rounder will be fine so we can use them to keep Hipwood and Keays as academy players.

No way in the world hes a fringe middielder. Would slot nicely into every clubs best 22.

In the preseason David King also said that Chris Yarran will be Carlton's best player this year. Two years ago he said Shaun Atley will be North's best player. Then there was him saying Hawkins is better than Buddy. I don't know why anyone takes him seriously, he's a moron.

Glory chaser...

He is from SA, & lives in Brisbane.

Only reason I can think of, as to why he wants to go to Perth, is glory chasing.

Saw it quite a bit as a Port supporters with us last season. Gorringe was South Australian but was a good example.

Redden leaving will be beneficial to the Lions, they have too many good midfielders and I hate to see Daniel Rich go to waste off half-back (should be starting Rover imo)

Unless Redden & Rich both have a pact to go to WA together and are trying not to look suspicious (Rich's contract runs out next year and he's from WA)  :P

I doubt Rich would leave the Lions though

Rich doesn't have the tank to play through the middle. I wish he could play through the middle, but at this stage he can't.
