As far as I'm concerned, Monfries is not in our best 22 after the way he performed last season - should provide Amon &/or Neade with the chance to become further ingratiated (I really want to see Neade lock himself into the best 22 this year because he is a truly talented footballer).

I'm not happy about Ryder because we paid so much for him and he caused problems with our gameplan (big chunk of the salary spent on him) only to be unavailable for 2016.

The silver lining is, we got Dixon, so we have the tall for our forward line and he can pinch hit in the ruck, but not to the extent where it will affect Lobbe.  :)

I see Lobbe returning to his late 2013/2014 form and recapturing top 5 (he was considered a top 3 ruck for most of 2014) status. I honestly don't see us incurring any loss from this besides a loss of depth. There was always going to be a difficult trade-off between Ryder & Lobbe going into this year and this way the decision is easy and won't leave a talented ruck man out.

I also suspect that the imminent WADA appeal was the reason that he were so adamant that Lobbe would not be traded.

I would say that barring any unforeseen injuries, our biggest loss through these bans will be financial
