Welcome all to the 2015 AXV Awards Night!

We have a big night ahead here, with plenty of awards to be given out, including the Golden Dragon, Wooden Chopstick, and of course, the big one, the first ever Colliwobblers Medal.

Named in honour of the man who set up this entire competition, the CW Medal is a Brownlow style medal, with 3-2-1 votes given for each AXV game. And I can tell you now that it is a cracker of a count, so I hope everyone stays around for it all!

Make sure you check in here regularly throughout the night!

Liam Picken or Daniel Hannebery are serious chances of taking this out I reckon. Hanners hasn't dropped below 100 once this season, and Picken's lowest score since Round 4 is 113.

Expecting Eddie Betts and Brad Ebert to poll a few votes early as well :)

And I think it's just about time that we kick things off over here! Again, welcome everyone to the 2015 AXV Awards Night. Without any further ado, let's get straight into the first couple of rounds of the Colliwobblers Medal voting.

The top 10 leaderboard will be updated after every 4 rounds, and before anyone asks, no I will not be disclosing the secret formula I use to work out these votes. ;)

A couple of Hawks in Lewis and Hodge are off to a nice start, but there is plenty of time for a whole range of players to make their mark on this year's award still. Let's get started with some of our other awards for tonight.

CW PRE-SEASON CAP - UAE TIGERS

February seemed so long ago, but at that point in the year we were all itching to get into the 2015 AXV season. Each year the Colliwobbler Preseason Cap gives coaches a chance to show off some younger talent, as well as fine tune their best XV sides for the start of the regular season. The Cap is named in honour of the inaugural administrator of the AXVs Competition, Colliwobblers. The AXVs competition would not be in its current state if it wasn't for Colli's tireless efforts.

In 2015 we saw current CW Cap holders the UAE Tigers take on a young PNG outfit. On paper the Tigers squad were easily favourites, but anything can happen at that time of year.

Even coach JROO8 couldn't contain his confidence...
Quote from: JROO8 on March 19, 2015, 03:14:06 PM
EME1: Player - David Mundy (MID)
EME2: Player - Dane Swan (MID/FWD)
EME3: Player - Luke Hodge (DEF)

A few big names left on the bench  :o

And that arrogance could have cost him, with Luke Hodge posting a massive 139 and Dane "Pig" Swan with a 130.

However the Tigers side had too much experience for the Head Hunters and cruised to victory, 1783 to 1572.

Congrats to JROO8 and the UAE Tigers!

Now would also be a good time to say good luck to our teams competing in this week's AXV Grand Final. After the Bangladesh Bears took out the title in the first two seasons, it is time for a new team to be crowned champions of Asia.

The Mongolian Lambs have come from 6th place to secure a spot in the last week, being a solid team all year that was always there abouts and getting wins against some of the top sides. They were inconsistent at times, but have put together an impressive finals series so far, and would have to be huge chances to win this week.

They are coming up against the Laos Elephants, who have been very consistent under Coach Nigey's first AXV Season. Their forward line is stacked with stars and has the potential to go boom every week, which Mongolia will be trying their hardest to keep in check.

This week's Grand Final will surely be a close affair, and I wish both teams the best of luck!

Also let's not forget we have the Reserves Grand Final as well, which will be played between the UAE Tigers and Mongolian Lambs.

GOLDEN BUDDHA - HIGHEST SCORING TEAM FOR H&A - & ASIA TROPHY - MINOR PREMIERS - UAE TIGERS

The Tigers had a great season, scoring a whopping 38404 points, beating last year's effort by more than 2000 points. They were the form team of the competition in the back half of the season, but ultimately failed in last week's prelim final. I'm sure they'll be back next year though, just as strong!

I expected it 8) Seeing as I'm the only other win here I bloody hope an Eskimo wins it!!
