The prestige is real!

It is time for the glorious Jim Stynes medal to be awarded, which has had only one recipient over the past 3 years; the might Gary Ablett Jnr. Which just makes this year that little bit more interesting! I don't want to imply anything, but GAJ managed just the 3 games this year...

This year has been another tremendous chapter in WXVs history, lets have a look at the snapshot!

We saw the introduction of the Rio de Janeiro Jaguars and Christchurch Saints, whom although had differing results this year, looks to be a tremendous big-picture success. Then, we saw our Administrator of 3 years hand over the reigns to a coach of 3 years in my fine self, which for a time would have made the coaches perhaps feel uncertain of whether Worlds would continue to enjoy the high quality that it has from 2012-2014. Come Round 1, it was an adapting period for new coaches and myself, but really it was a raging success with some glimpses of the season to come. And I feel from start to finish, it was a highly enjoyable season.

Last year we saw how popular the hashtag #NoMummyNoCairo was, but, seeing as Mumford didn't make too much of a difference for Cairo this year, there was another similarly hilarious phenomenon. I speak of course of the meow meow & Holz debate between Sandilands and Rockliff, which has been mentioned all year to the amusement of the other 16 coaches.

Whether you had a successful year or not, a lot was to me remembered this year and it is now where we celebrate it. I talk of Persona's like the confident Holz, the witty & humble roo boys, "Karen's boys", the tag-team at New York, HP & his (now not-so) silent partner and their casted out blitz... and teams like the improved Islanders and Revolution, the professional Saints, the London Dublin-killers, heck even the unfortunate New Delhi! It was just an awesome year, and as we approach the Grand Final between Dublin & Mexico City, it starts to draw to a close. Well, the on-season anyway.

Like the years before, ossie and I will be giving out several awards but none more prestigious than the...

The Jim Stynes Medal!

It's a simple formula, where the highest individual scorer in each game of the Home and Away Season is awarded 3 votes, the second highest 2 votes and the third highest 1 vote.

Take Note:
If a player tied for the highest scorer in any game, or the 2nd highest or the 3rd highest, the RANDOM function in Microsoft excel  decides who gets the highest amount of votes. For example:

Andrew Raines and Karmichael Hunt both got 160 points each, which was the highest individual score of that game. The RANDOM function in the Microsoft Excel Function awards (at random) Andrew Raines 3 votes and Karmichael Hunt 2 votes.

This is likewise if Alipate Carlile gets 180 points, Raines and Hunt get the second highest, so the RANDOM function awards (at random) Raines 2 votes and Hunt 1 vote. And so on if Hunt and Raines got the third highest score.

At Round's 5, 10 and 15, ossie85 will be announcing awards including the All-Worlds Team, The Rising Star Award, The Coach of the Year and The Coaches Award.

The night will take place on Wednesday September 2nd, 7.30PM AET, so be sure to cancel all of your other plans!

Also, feel free to invite anyone along and reserve a table... whether it be your B&F winner or your favourite celebrities such as regular Dave Grohl, who just loves these events.

It's gonna be AWESOME! Hope to see everyone there!

Goldy to get robbed just like the real brownlow

Confident Holz is about the nicest thing you have said all year. Was expecting more Arrogant Holz, Egotistical Holz etc..

Gaff will win it

We all know that Fyfe will win.

plays for the guy adding up the poll :P

its the fairest and best and, Fyfe clearly not the fairest or the best so should be ineligible.

You guys acting like Shane Mumford hasnt won is kind of funny.

Heater should win it

113 avg, hasn't missed a game. That's massive. A defender scoring like an elite mid, and actually playing in defense!

unfortunately there is no bonus for postions.

what I did in the euro when i did the award was each week average the 72 defenders playing in the euro then do the point differential with the score each player got and their positional average. However that took me like 10 hours to do.

Goldy as a 128 average is pretty huge and probably would win easy with that system.

Robbie gray 110 would also be a chance.
