Let's be serious, how he plays in NAB is going to decide whether people warm to him or pass

He cranks out a ton or two or scores well based on TOG and he becomes a lock. If he looks average most will pass
NAB scoring is probably the worse thing to base his selection on. Only use it to see if he plays sole ruck or not.

For example, oppo ruckman could take it half seriously and he could pull out a monster score, and then struggle during the year.
And it goes the other way

NAB is only to see what possie players are playing in and to check out rookies.

Oh I know that, hence I didn't say I personally would be doing that, but the majority will

I picked Harry Lamumba on his NAB scores last year  :P

Even their positions/roles can be a false indicator. A lot of half teams and experimentation during nab.
My rule is to only judge rookies on how they look during the nab. Too many burns judging anyone else based off of it

Yes I agree. I hate choosing players with long hair in my teams.

Hinkley usually refrains from playing his starting line-up during the NAB (like most coaches).

I see Lobbe only playing one game at the most during the NAB as he has become the one player we cannot afford to suffer an injury

His he is named during the NAB I will be very disappointed (it would be reckless imo).

I think Billy Frampton will ruck all 3 games

I would recommend people watch Frampton play in the NAB because he plays like a madman (ultra-aggressive type)

There's no way Lobbe doesn't play any NAB games. He'll play at least one.

Nothing compares to match fitness, and NAB is the perfect lead in to RD1

PICCOLLO

I'm a bit split on him at this stage.  Might come down to how the money falls and what looks better for my team.

I think you need to be buying him with the mindset he'll be a keeper or close to.  I'm not sure he'll match it will goldstein and Martin in the SC arena

No you don't. Priced at 72 and with a 90-100 average, he should increase in price by $50-150k. He is an investment, nothing more.

Money Shot

I think he is a good DT pick but not a good supercoach pick.

Wato is right, I don't think anyone who is selecting Lobbe believes he can match the big names, but the spare cash in hand is just so useful whilst getting competitive scores.

PiPies

Seriously considering myself, not as a keeper but as a ruck who should go up a bit in price and give me some time to see who else performs in the rucks. Thinking of starting Goldy and using Lobbe to see who else goes well as I'm finding it tough to decide between Nic Nat and Martin. Also gives me $200k elsewhere obviously.

If you think he'll avg 100 then yeah, you're right but that almost makes him a keeper.  Im thinking 85 avg, so you could use him as a stepping stone to a dropping Goldstein or something but unless it means I can get a better pick in another line that makes my team look heaps better then I'm not sure about him.
