Lobbe:
- is a proven, top-notch ruck
- is at an incredible price ($350k)
- is not getting a game for the Pear

What is his contract scenario? Any chance of being at a different club come next year where he can take on the role of #1 ruck?
Surely if he finds himself at a new home, or Ryder suffers a serious injury, he's got to be a lock.

I dont consider him proven. What's he had, one decent season and couldn't back it up?

LordSneeze

Yeah not a lock, he has struggled with the new ruck points as he cannot tap to a target. At best a 80 average and isn't worth it IMO

Is that because of the arrival of Ryder, or because he can't match it at this level?
He was killing it last year, I find it hard to believe that all of that fell apart in one off-season.
Just my opinion, will always value that of others highly, and hope you can mine.

Lobbe had an interupted pre season and missed first few rounds with a quad injury  (i think?). Maybe he's still troubled by a niggle as he's not as mobile around the ground this year.

Was in best players in SANFL last weekend though

Could be worth a look, but Leuenberger will be a similar price and is more proven. Even with his injury history, if he is at another club I would consider him before Lobbe.

But in general midpricers just aren't worth it.

Some things to keep in mind are that he's 350k right now in this season, but that's affected by his current/recent form. Next year he'll be priced at his average which is looking like it will finish at 70-75, which will stick him somewhere around 400k. That's a bit of a punt really because it's an awkward price for a stepping stone, so you'd really have to be picking him backing him as a keeper. As others have said, he doesn't really have the history. 1 year where he just made 100 average, several where he's been 70-80. So I don't really think his price would go up much from starting, makes him a bit of a waste as a starter in my mind.

Ask all the people who started Jordan Lewis what one year of good scoring is worth :P

PICCOLLO

Couldnt get back in after being BOG in SANFL. Ryder and Lobbe together doesnt work well.

Be interesting to see what happens next year but his JS has enough doubt for me to look elsewhere.

It got me his big 140+ and a following great score and then nothing but pain and misery  :'(

Ryder is only effetive if he's the sole ruck

Lobbe returns against the Ruck deprived Suns this week, looks like they're giving Ryder a rest up forward

fanTCfool

Lobbe managed 78 SC points from just 69 minutes on the ground.
He rucked alongside Ryder, who had 30 hitouts, while he had a decent 28.
However, they were up against the somewhat ruck deprived Suns, so some more solid scores would be handy.

enzedder

No. I was all over him a couple of pre seasons back but in the rucks you're best to get two of Goldy, Nic Nat, Jacobs, Martin or Mummy (-1 trade).

Gandalf123

mid price rucks will burn ya, never again!
