why cant the final date for delistings be like after trade period 2

so like instead of not using picks or delisting players i don't want to

i can use all my picks and try to downsize my list via trades in trade period 2

so i could possibly have 50 players on my list until list lodgement date

if for some reason a coach doesnt do the final delistings you just remove the most recent draftees like whoever they drafted last

I think trade period two is trades on a one for one basis so you wouldn't be able to downsize your list with trades?
But i could be wrong :)
