Memphistopheles

Here is what the Cape Town Cobras Best XV would have looked like this week. Unfortunately because of injuries our reserves are going to cop a hit. Shane Savage, James Gwilt, Nick O'Brien, Adam Cooney, George Horlin-Smith and Scott Selwood are all out this week. Some first teamers which means other reserves come in to the Best XV and can't play and some just missing from the reserves

Can I suggest that next season in the reserves finals series we have  rule where if a player has played more than X number of games for the reserves throughout the season they are eligible to play in the finals even if they would have made that side's Best XV that week.

It would make for a better reserves finals series I think. There might be a a double up or two with a player scoring for both the first team and the reserves. For example in our team this week probably Nick Haynes and Sam Reid would have been eligible to play for the reserves under the above rule (Gwilt and Savage would have taken their spots in the side).

Def: Shaun Higgins, Jasper Pittard, Andrejs Everitt, Nick Haynes
Mid: Josh P. Kennedy, Trent Cotchin, Dom Tyson, Ed Curnow
Ruc: Stefan Martin
Fwd: Tom Hawkins, Lachie Hunter, Jeremy Cameron, Stewart Crameri
Uti: Mark Blicavs, Sam Reid (D/F)

Eme: Billy Longer (R), Will Schofield (D), Darcy Lang (M)

Durban Pirates

Guys in italics are listed as an emergency or on the extended bench for their AFL clubs

Def: Will Schofield, Gary Rohan, Cam O'Shea, Matt Dick, Billie Smedts
Mid: Nick O'Brien, Darcy Lang, George Horlin-Smith, Brant Colledge
Ruc: Billy Longer
Fwd: Cam McCarthy, Brandon Jack

*Please note Billy Longer is averaging more than Sam Reid this season. But, with Longer up against Goldstein and Buddy missing from the Swans side I think we'd have gone for Reid over Longer this week.

You think Sandi's all that. But he's not!

Scores of 145 and 140 in the past two weeks would indicate otherwise! Up against Nic Nat this week though... oh wait! Sandi is a proven WXV finals performer. He won't choke.

Yes, reserves finalists have to name emergencies in their senior best XV. If a best XV player is eligible to be subbed, then an emergency will take their place, and the subbed out player will play for the reserves team.

Stats men, can we get some finals statistics please? Best finals average, most finals played etc?

I can hope considering we have to play Campbell on him :'(. Be a shame if something was to happen to him... Like Griffin explodes and Sandi rests up forward >:D.

Wouldn't be such a shame if Sandi took it easy and kicked a lazy 8 vs the shortest backline in the league.

London Team for Finals (Best Team not in Finals)

What are the rules for emergencies?  Do we have to name them and then do normal sub rule and late out rules apply or do we assume they all play reserve?

Def: Dane Rampe; Mark Baguley;Tom Lonergan, Zac Tuohy
Mids: Daniel Hanneberry (C);David Mackay; Brent Stanton ; Jarrad McVeigh (VC)
Rucks: Jonathan Giles
Fwds:Josh Hill; Dannyle Pearce;Chris Mayne,  Callum Sinclair
Int:  Sam Wright, Adam Saad

Leaving a reserves Team:

Def: Heretier Lumumba, Kyle Hartigan, Hugh Beasley, Brad Sheppard
Mid: Billy Hartung, Billy Evans. Matt Shaw, Billy Stretch, Cory Gregson

Naming my reserves

New York Oppressors (to yo Revolution, biatch)

D: Michael Hibberd, Jarryn Geary, Colin Garland, Jack Grimes
M: Nat Fyfe (C), Jack Steven (VC), Daniel Cross, Jack Viney
R: Max Gawn
F: Drew Petrie, Lewis Jetta, Marco PapaGun, Jack Watts
I: Jesse Lonergan, Rory Atkins
E: Charlie Dixon, Xavier Ellis, Jordan Murdoch

Big call I guess not naming Dixon... just feel a Richmond defense will keep him to a 30 score.

A much bigger call in giving Rory Atkins his debut on a final though! I just feel that Murdoch won't score against Hawthorn either, and X.Ellis isn't all that appealing either.

Argh, I dunno!
