So there's going to be a few casualties after this ashes, Clarkey and Rogers gone already, Haddin/Voges/S.Marsh/Johnson/Siddle could potentially hang up the boots, what team line up would you like to see?

Im thinking bout culling most of the old boys and having a team line up for the future along the lines of

Warner
Maddinson
Smith
Khawaja
Burns
M.Marsh
Nevill
Johnson
Starc
Hazelwood
Lyon

Pattinson/Cummins back up bowling
Not sure who might back up the batting though haha

and give these guys a year at it without any kneejerk changes from test to test

Handscomb has to be in there IMHO.

Joe Burns  8) That is all  8)

I think that after this summer Johnson should retire and be replaced by Pattinson/Cummins. Same goes for Voges and maybe MMarsh. Marsh shouldn't play though.

Our first goal has got to be to find a number 3.

I like the look of this team. I'd push Burns up to opener with Warner and have Handscomb or Ferguson in the middle order.

Edited because I have OCD when it comes to seeing names spelt incorrectly. :P And Rogers has already called it quits after the next test too.

Agree with this. Where has Smith made his runs? It was 4 not 5 right? Play him at 4 I wouldn't bat him at 3.

Alex Doolan got pushed out really quickly what was the deal there? Joe Burns I agree should get a call-up.

I would be leaving Voges in the side for the NZ tests, he doesn't have that much test match experience but he has life experience and run scoring experience, there is a danger of going too far the other way and telling David Warner he is the experienced bat and the man in charge is not a good idea.

Bowling has been good, Starc I still have doubts over but he is taking wickets, can't ask for much more I guess... Hazlewood has been surprisingly poor this series but is the future.

Yeah I'm looking at something like this:

Warner
Burns
Khawaja
Smith
Handscomb
MMarsh
Nevill
Johnson
Starc
Cummins
Lyon

12th man: Hazlewood

This is our team for the Day-Night Test and the Summer IMO. Khawaja is a handy one as he has test experience along with Burns and the bowlers can really steady the ship. In the end a lot comes down to Smith, as it should with a Captain. Hazlewood is a good bowler in England but in here I'd rather the raw pace of Cummins. Johnson and Starc can be very economical and as aggressive as this lineup is, it's what works here.

Mod edit: he cleared it up below but just to remove confusion put it in this post too.

Lehman said it was a mistake not having a 5th bowler in the last test, so Marsh will play.

I wouldn't bother with the 12th man in your side Torpy. he should be used at the 11th man :P

Are you taking him over Cummins? On Australian Pitches? Our future Pace lineup is Hazlewood+Cummins+Patto+Starc with Lyon anyway. This is, if our top order can score.

I think he was pointing out your team only had 10 men :p
