I think he meant McPharlin and Gray equals 134, as they both come on for Lids and Pearce

Sorry only had my phone so was doing all calculations in my head haha.

Ringo

Apologies for the lateness but received a late call to fill in on JP Roster,

Well what happened in the first weeks of finals.

Late outs and subs have really cost some teams this year especially in this final putting paid to some chances.  (Hoods had 3 subs so that was end of season). Thankfully this should be the last year for subs in AFL.

4 teams will enjoy this week off and 4 teams will be eliminated from Premiership and Plate.

So for the results:

Premiership
Qualifying Final 1 - Winchester Werewolves 22.11.143 defeated Hastings Hurricanes 22.10.142
In a quality match worthy of a final Werewolves just got over the line against a defiant Hurricanes outfit. They rode the 19th man the home crowd to its fullest and this eventually got them home.
Changes:
Werewolves: Matthew Stokes subscore replaces Adam Saad score
Hurricanes:  Corey Gregson replaced Ben McGlynn and Ryan Schoenmakes subscore replaces Corey Gregson score
Best Players:
Werewolves: Zorko, Cripps, Dahlhaus, Bartel
Hurricanes: Stefan Martin, Stephen Hill, Mundy, Goddard
Werewolves get the week off and Hurricanes can look forward to next weeks semi final where they will have the HGA.

Qualifying Final 2 - Liverpool Rams 22.10.142 defeated Huddersfield Hawks 20.15.135
Rams rode home on a dominant performance from Captain Todd Goldstein and to show the dominance he was the only player for the Rams recording more than 100 points. Hawks were behind the eight ball with having to replace late Brett Delidio and Clancee Pearce but were still very competitive.
Changes:
Rams: Taylor Hunt subscore replaces Jed Adcock score
Hawks: Kane Lambert replaced Brett Deledio and Luke McPharlin replaced Kane Lambert, Sam Gray replaced Clancee Pearce
Best Players:
Rams: Goldstein
Hawks: Sam Mitchell, Breust, Blicavs
Rams will have the week off and Hawks will play semi final 2 next week with HGA.

Elimination Final 1- Bradford Badgers 23.18.156 defeated Nottingham Hoods 20.12.132
Badgers flexing their muscles and showing this may not be the foregone conclusion that was originally thought. Hoods really suffered with selection issues this week not helping their cause especially with subs.
Changes:
Badgers: Jesse Lonergan subscore replaces Shannon Hurn score
Hoods: No changes
Best Players:
Badgers: Higgins, Tom Lynch, Matthew Boyd, Hanley, Fasolo
Hoods: Pendlebury, Sandilands Shiels
Badgers go to Semi Final and Hoods are eliminated.

Elimination Final 2 - Swansea Breakers 23.18.156 defeated Crosby Cruisers 20.15.135
Cruisers were dealt a blow when their ruckman had to be replaced with fill in players. This allowed Breakers to run riot and record one of their highest scores of the season. With Lewis and Selwood returning to form the Breakers will start giving some cheek as well.
Breakers: Touk Miller subscore replaces Colin Garland Score
Cruisers: Nick Suban (OOP) replaces David Hale and Tom Clurey subscore replaces Hugh Goddard score
Best Players:
Breakers: Montagna, Selwood, Lewis, Rioli, Heath Shaw
Cruisers: Dangerfield, Mackie, Waite
Breakers go to semi final and Cruisers eliminated

Semifinals will be interesting as both teams winning the elimination finals scored more than teams in the qualifying final.

Plate Finals
Qualifying Final 1. - Manchester Magic 20.14.134 defeated Oxford Owls 18.11.119
Owls had a number of their players underperforming and were not helped by not having a playing sub available.
Changes:
Owls: No Change
Magic: Joe Daniher subscore replaces Jay Schulz score
Best Players:
Magic: Baguley, Gaff
Owls: Robinson. Scott Thomson, Guthrie, Steven
Magic with the week off and Owls to the semi final.

Qualifying Final 2 Leeds Leeches 22.14.146 defeated Blackpool Bunnies 20.12.132
Bunnies were hurt with non players resulting in no sub. Leeches showing what might have been with a score better than the qualifying finals.
Changes
Bunnies: Matt Shaw replaced Richard Douglas.
Leeches Andrew Carrazzo sub score replaces Tom Scully score
Best Players:
Leeches: Sam Jacobs, Lewis Jetta, Viney, Shuey
Bunnies: Swan, Murphy, Cunnington
Leeches with the week off and Bunnies to semi-final.

Elimination Final 1 - Grope Lane Giants 16.14.110 defeated Hebden Bridge Hedgehogs 13.12.90
In a somewhat scrappy game Giants caused a little upset in defeating the Hedgehogs. Season could not come quickly enough for the Hegehogs who are the biggest sliders this year. They were not helped with not being able to field a full team and so many late changes.
Hedgehogs: Mark Whiley replaced Nick Natanui OOP
Giants: Daniel McStay subscores replaces Cameron score
Best Players:
Giants: Ibbotson, Dickson
Hedgehogs: Wallis, Dustin Martin
Giants progress to the semifinals and Hedgehogs eliminated

Elimination Final 2 - Birmingham Dragons 22.14.146 defeated Staines Steins 21.11.137
In a quality game where both teams played great football the Dragons outlasted the Steins. Neither team warranted elimination but unfortunately one has to go and it is the Steins. Both teams recording one of their highest scores of the season.
Changes:
Dragons: No Change
Steins: Viv Michie subscore replaces Elliott Yeo score.
Best Players:
Dragons: Aaron Hall, Caddy, Rockliff, Mcevoy, Ziebell
Steins: Hogan, Brodie Grundy, Bontempelli
Dragons advance to semi-final and Steins can build for next year.

Draw for the 4 Semifinals will be up tomorrow.

Did I lose because I didn't update my team and not get the 20 point bonus?

Looks that way mate!  :-X

From 1st to last, what a year for the hedgies.

I did the maths and if we had played Neale for Scooter and made him the sub, along with Greene as the back OOP, we still lost  :'(

Was going to advise you by PM but seeing you posted here yes.  If you has posted scores result would have been reversed.

Last 6 weeks has not been kind to the Hedgies injury wise.

*takes a deep breath*

Look. I understand the rule. I understand I can't change the result. I understand that it is my fault.

I just want it to be known, I am deeply dissatisfied that that bonus exists, especially in a final, and that it has cost me a qualifying final win.

I think I should stop there.

kilbluff1985

not the first time someone has lost due to bonus points

maybe the first time someone lost in a final though

Ringo

Put in rule discussion thread Purps for next year.  It can be discussed in there as a rule change.

I did actually lose a game due to it earlier in the season as well.

We actually have had Scooter and Greenwood come back from injury lately. It isn't about injuries at all, our players are getting dropped because we have a whole team of fringe players. Our last half of the season has been so bad, it is almost priority pick worthy. Hopefully some players nail their spots over summer or it will be a very long year next year at the bottom again for us!

Nige

Fingers crossed the week off does the lads some good and we come out firing.
