Really depends when the Roo's play Freo as to what i'll do with Goldy, 700k doesn't phase me but alot north of that would have me thinking about looking elsewhere till he puts in a bad one.

Ringo

I am just hoping Stef Martin does not increase too much further s reverting ti sole ruck at Brisbane he will be value. Would be great to be able to afford Goldy and Martin as set and forget rucks.

My reservation with this is that people have said that before with players like Gaz only for him to smoke it out of the blocks, and if you look at Goldy this year the lowest he got was 511k from a starting price of 574... That didn't happen until round 9, by which time he'd already posted 1000 points. Obviously it will depend on the total makeup of people's teams but that's a reasonable risk to take. If you'd picked Grundy at the start of the year, by round 9 he'd made about 100k on his starting price, scored 800 points, so your financial gain is about 160k for a loss of 200 points and a trade... Worth it?

I guess for me Rucks has been the position I usually don't like to mess too much with, the one exception being last year Sandi for 300k was a no-brainer. So many "what-ifs" that need to go your way for this to pay off...

Exactly what I was thinking too :)

I feel his price may be a little hefty for me. I'll be looking at starting Nic Nat and a Stef Martin type if priced reasonably. Just feel that if you are paying North of 700k for a player, you basically want a guaranteed 125 season average at least. That's why everyone forked out for Gaz every year, because we all new he would get that barring injury. At the end of the day Goldy could have a great year next year but only ave 110. If Gaz has a great year he's going 135+ guaranteed.

You're probably spot on there mate, i like to go the set and forget route also it's somehow comforting lol knowing your rucks won't need touching for the year unless injury falls on them for any length of time.

I think Berger will go to another team next year so i will be starting Berger and Mummy as Mummy will be cheap. Then upgrade Berger to Goldy

Mummy is great but something always seems to affect him each year and he misses chunks of games. Have often wanted to start him but his durability always has me shying away when it comes to locking him in. If i started Luey and Mummy i'd have alot of nightmares worrying about them mate.

Mummy usually lasts till half way then misses a game or two. I think Leuy at another club will score well.

Leuy was good until last year when he got injured. Mummy is an SC beast

Agree he is an SC beast, he's not your typical ruckman he does alot around the ground like Goldy, tackling marking in chains of play. He's very mobile for a big man and all that makes him SC gold.

he isnt good enough to take the injury risk.

Surely you would go Jacobs over him

played every game bar 1 averages a solid 103

my other pick would be Nic Nat, played every game and averages 102

Go those two and turn one of them into Goldy by the bye rounds.

Grazz

Mummy's durability is the worry, otherwise he'd be a no brainer to go with Goldy.

Interesting. Have the value algorithms stayed the same since 2006 though?
