Toga

I wouldn't want to lose Mayes - I know he's been a bit off this season but the bloke can seriously play!

If Brisbane trade Luey they should definitely draft Sam Michael again.
Can afford to let him go with West and Archie Smith as back ups to Martin. Others can pinch hit in Ruck as well.  Think we should get the best we can for Berger who is a free agent - Dogs, Bombers and Cats rumoured to be showing interest,

Wonder if the Eagles would make a play for Daniel Rich. Key position stocks are really not too bad and if we sent a player and a pick your way I think something mutually beneficial could be worked out.

I really honestly don't think we need Rich atm,who comes out for him?

Not sure, imagine his left boot as a weapon though. Cant tag Priddis, Gaff, Rich, Hurn and Shuey

Yeah but I just can't find a spot for him in the best 22 atm.
Maybe at seasons end when we see who goes, then we might have a better idea of where he might fit in.

He could be an Ellis replacement with more upside, or even someone like Rosa who has been probably the only player on our list to go backwards this season

Don't deserve a priority pick.

No harm in trying seeing the AFL has stuffed our Academy Picks.

True, more deserving than Melbourne was last year. But still don't see it happening. Consider yourselves lucky Academy Picks exist :P Keays, Hipwood as Academy picks are bloody awesome.

Ringo

I do not either PK but, without wanting to reinvent the Academy saga, we could use later picks to secure our nominated academy picks but now have to match bids which means we lose access to other players because we developed super good players at the academy. We should stuff them all up to start with and bid for Collingwoods F/s with our first pick.

Great news on Martin.

Also good to hear the club will be seeking fair value in Aish trade if he goes which is looking more and more likely. Would also be great if the compensation pick for Berger is similar to what Melbourne got for Frawley last year. He was a no 4 draft pick in 2006 so that should mean something as well.

Not really, weren't people tipping Brisbane to potentially sneak into the 8 this year after they went and got Beams, Bundy and Robbo? Melbourne have been crap for the best part of a decade, however neither deserve it

On a side note

QuoteCARLTON is braced for more exits during the trade period, with big-bodied midfielder Tom Bell considering a move back to his native Queensland.

However, Bell remains under contract until 2016 and has not yet requested a trade.

The 24-year-old is committed to completing the season and will assess the club’s position before making any decision.

The lure of a return home is a natural temptation for Bell, with family expected to play a big role in where he plays his football next season.

Bell has enjoyed a career-best year in 2015 and is averaging close to 21 disposals per game.

The Blues officially announced that swingman Lachie Henderson has requested a trade on Thursday morning, but he is unlikely to be the club’s last departure.

I am not copying the rest of the article but that could be the straight swap for Aish. I am not happy about this at all though

Just highlighting Matt, Dees got pick 3 for Frawley as compensation for free agency so it would not be out of the question for Brisbane to expect something similar for Berger this year.

I don't think anyone will give Berger the size of the contract or the length that Chip got, hence the compensation. I think they will get a first for him but middle or end of the first. I need to go back and look at the compensation system though since I can't remember the changes they made.

I just had a look at the compo rules, they eliminated the mid rounders, they must have just been with the Suns/Giants compo picks. I think end of the first round isn't enough but I think pick 3 might be too much. Frawley is younger so I think end of the first will be the pick.

Ringo

Similar situation to Luke Power who then went to GWS.  But personally awaiting whether we keep Staker as it will make a mockery of that statement.
Redden also rumoured to be considering options as he is off contract at end of 2016. We really need to keep Redden though as his hardball gets and tackling are needed whilst youngsters in mid field develop.

Where do you think he would go if he left?
