So here i have a dilemma

My defence is a bit weak atm and only have 2 trades and 52k to fix it up..

here it is thus far.

Shaw,Tmac,Yeo,Newnes,Hibberd,Smith (hamling beasley)

Have a full squad otherwise...

I reckon i want to trade out hibberd if you think different post below... but i have the option of either going hibberd -> eski/kelly and having 128k for my last trade. or i can use that straight away and upgrade hamling allowing me to have smith on bench cover with kelly and eski on the field....

other option is go to any defender under 470k

It's a tough one, Kelly & Esky will improve your squad and get Smith to D7. I like those trades a lot. The question really becomes one of rolling the dice on an injury free run home. Seeing as though you don't have any defensive depth I'd probably just throw caution to the wind and also take advantage of the loophole situation. It all really depends on your appetite for risk.

What about Hurley or Birchall?

2 trades left means you can't afford to trade out Hibberd.  The guy is playing. You gotta sit on what you got right now.

Hamling hopefully back next week.  In a week or two he might be worth enough to jump on someone a bit more solid.

Or Gibson high ceiling should score well against Carlton and play Brisbane and Carlton in the last 2 rnds

I personally hope Hamling is back but I'm far from convinced he'll be a walk up starter. With Johnson & Dawson a week away Pearce could also be a liability. Once again it comes down to having outstanding depth versus plugging the holes if and when they happen. With two trades down I can see both sides to the argument, I guess much hinges on the importance of the last two matches before finals.

Agree with Bully, you could make an argument either way. I personally would lean towards holding, if you make those trades and then say Shaw and Yeo get injured, you'll wish you had Hibberd still there and trades to use - or injuries anywhere else on the field for that matter! At least if you hold the trades you've got a team that currently you'd expect to be playing every week, and in the case that antone isn't you can make adjustments. If you pre-emptively go for a good defense cover but then you lose a ruck, you're in trouble.
