The West Coast Eagles has become the fifth AFL club to reach the milestone of 60,000 members.

The magic number ticked over today, marking a significant achievement in the club’s history.

The Eagles membership base has continued to swell since inception, with figures reaching a record 58,529 in season 2014, and a remarkable renewal rate of 91 percent heading into the 2015 season has contributed to today’s record.

Almost 30 percent of West Coast’s membership base is non-access, with these fans displaying exceptional commitment to their club.

West Coast chief executive Trevor Nisbett was delighted with the strong show of support from Eagles fans.

“We’ve always been incredibly proud of the loyalty of our members, regularly experiencing one of the highest renewal rates in the country,” Nisbett said.

“Now, we can also boast of having one of the largest member bases in the competition, which is especially impressive given the capacity restrictions we have at Domain Stadium.

“The fact that our fans are staking their loyalty to the club, many of them without being able to access every game, is just an incredible testament to their faith and passion for the club, both now and into the future.”
