We come to second last round and jockeying for positions continue.  Some matches this week will define final positions in the 8.

Round 17 Draw (AFL Round 17 Friday July 24th to Sunday July 26th)
Liverpool Rams v Winchester Werewolves @ Goodison Park
A win by the Wolves will virtually assure them of the minor premiership.  A win by Rams will give them a remote chance at minor premiership and some confidence going into the finals that they can overcome the Werewolves juggernaut, Werewolves will be favoured with Ablett flexing his muscles for the finals run.

Nottingham Hoods v Huddersfield Hawks @ Trent Bridge
Crucial game here for both sides as a loss could see them out of the Top 4. Think win for the Hawks more crucial though as they face the Werewolves in the final round. If the Hoods are on their game they can take it up to the Hawks but favour the Hawks with no real confidence.

Swansea Breakers v Bradford Badgers @ Swalec Stadium
Another game with repercussions for positions in the 8, A win by the Badgers could see them knocking on the door for 4th position if other results go their way and a loss for the Breakers could see them out of the 8. Both teams are capable of big scores and result will dependent on which team turns up as both can turn in shockers as well. Really a toss of the coin if both teams turn up.

Oxford Owls v Hastings Hurricanes @ Incheon Stadium
Yet another game where results can change positions in the 8. Hurricanes are currently in 4th position and would want to cement that position whereas a losss by the Owls could see them drop out of the 8 as well.  Hurricanes have been in great form in recent weeks and if that form continues should account for the Owls.  Any drop off by the Hurricanes could see the Owls triumph but Hurricanes enter as favourites.

Manchester Magic v Crosby Cruisers @ Old Trafford
And surprisingly this match also has a bearing on 8th position in the 8.  A loss by the Cruisers would dent their chances of making the 8 and would have to rely on other results if they are to make it. Magic are up and down and if they bring the form they did last week they can defeat the Cruisers. HGA may be what gets the Magic home here.

Hebden Bridge Hedgehogs v Leeds Leeches @ Todmodern Sports Centre
Hedgehogs have really been struggling recently and unless they have a dramatic shift in form hard to see them overcoming the Leeches here

Staines Steins v Blackpool Bunnies @ Wheatsheaf Park
This match is not the foregone conclusion it appears as if the Steins bring last weeks form, where they had their highest score of the season, they will match it with the Bunnies and may get the win. Bunnies slight favourites though,

Grope Lane Giants v Birmingham Dragons @ Giant Stadium

Should be an easy win to the dragons here cementing the Giants at the bottom of the ladder,

Post teams here and teams will be locked at Bounce of Hawthorn/Carlton game on Friday night.

With so many season defining games here let the banter begin.
